PAW or computer savy notaries
Have downloaded docs and I'm getting a message just as the first doc appears, "Rebuild", it disappears and then I get a pop-up message that says "An unrecognized token /76 was found". Does anyone have a clue as to what this means? Thanks.

PDFs? Can you print them? If not, I think it means that your document is somehow "broken." Probably need to call the place where you get the docs from.
That's just a guess and you are probably needing to get something done quickly.

I already did. Yes, it's a PDF and they said they printed them with no problem. I tried printing them on both my printers and running them through another server. Nothing worked. I had to give up the signing. It was a double loan, too, gosh darnit.

The one and only time I've seen a similar message was trying to open a PDF file that was not made with an Adobe product and the version of the reader didn't match what the file was looking for. In my case, the file was made with a utility called PDF995 and the reader was version 5, but the file was intended for version 6.
It sounds like the file is missing a token and the reader can't parse it correctly.

Would there be any way to correct this on my end? I've gotten files from this title company on many occassions.

No printer guru here, but I have had problems with some PDFs that have been forwarded a few times. Lender sends to TC, TC sends to SS, SS sends to Notary and somewhere in the forwarding process something gets lost. When this happens I just ask that the TC send me the email directly and usually it does the trick.
Sorry you had to throw one back.

Jan - the PDF file is corrupted (hence the "rebuild" message - it's trying to rebuild the index) and because of the corruption there are "unrecognized tokens". This message is often received when the file doesn't download completely....perhaps because a site or the internet is very busy.
You didn't specify if you were opening the PDF file from the email, of if you saved it to your disk first and then tried to open it.
A good practice is to always save the PDF file to your hard drive first, then open it.

Thanks for the reply
Barbara. Yes, I was opening it from my email, it downloaded. Didn't notice anything wrong until it was printing out. So the file was re-sent; I downloaded and it did the same thing. Then the SS sent it over to me and it did the same thing. I rarely save to disk, but maybe I should start doing that. I figured it was corrupted in some way because I've not had any problems this week with any downloaded files. Again. thanks for the replies.
