Print fee & cancellation
I just called a ss about an invoice I had not been payed a print fee for , the signing was canceled. He told me he would issue a fee this time but it is not their policy, and I would need to state it before taking an assignment. I have always been payed a print fee if I am told to print and go ( I did not go it was cancelled by borrower before I left for it.) He also said not everyone charges for a print fee I am asking how many of you DON'T charge a print fee on a cancel?

I went to a signing this morning, and as I pulled up to the borrower's home and opened the door to my vehicle, and the phone rang. It was the title company cancelling the signing and rescheduling. I rescheduled the signing, and stated that I would send the invoice for my travel & printing fee. They did not want to pay the fees. I explained to them that I used my paper, my ink and my gasoline for this appointment, and that it was not my fault that the signing had cancelled. They finally agreed to pay me. What to these companies think, that we do not have overhead costs, and that we work for free?

No never work for FREE
No, I don't work for free either, but I've started a new policy that the signing companies love. If the signing doesn't occur and I've printed the documents, I Pay THEM! But not pennies like they want to pay, I pay $150 for any signing that isn't completed. Just Kidding, but they SHOULD Pay when we print docs and signing doesn't occur.

If I print documents you bet I charge a print fee. I only had one company inform me that I was not going to be paid a print fee, they advised me to destroy the documents. I informed them that I would ship all of the documents back to them (using their Fed-Ex number of course) for them so shread. They ended up sending me a print/shread fee.
