Just going on the info you provide and not knowing a lot about these state's laws, I would shop the R.E. attornies to see if they keep experienced closers on staff. You seem to have the credentials that they would be looking for and you may have to be satisfied working for an attorney as opposed to running your own show. Good luck.

There's a GA Attorney who posts here frequently....

perhaps he/she would give you the advice you're looking for. He/she doesn't post with a link so you'll just have to watch, I think he/she posts under the handle GA_ATTORNEY but I'm getting old and my memory is fading.

Hi, Suzette! Unfortunately, you won't be able to to do mobile closings here LEGALLY unless you simply accompany an attorney to the closings for the sole purpose of notarizing the documents. Georgia requires the physical presence of the attorney at all closings. Best of luck to you in whatever new endeavor you pursue, however.

Attorney States

Yep, "attorney state" means you can't do closings unless you're licensed as an atty. in that state. Applies to refi.s, HELOCs, etc., as well as purchases. If you do a closing and are not licensed as an atty. in that state it's a misdemeanor (unauthorized practice of law).

I think there are 8 atty. states? GA, SC, MA, CT, DE, WV, VT, MY, (and IL requires either an atty. or title agent?).
