The NNA's BBB report

Brad/CA got me thinking with his BBB post on Notary on the Go. When I looked at the page he provided a link for I noticed that the BBB investigate false advertising claims. >>>No question about the truth of this company's advertising has come to our attention.<<<

What if the newbies that were promised BIG BUCKS were to report the NNA and other So. CA notary manufacturing plants to the BBB for false advertising? It may be a very small step in the right direction. I am completely appalled by the claims of these companies.

Sounds like a plan!

Of course, that assumes that they do any checking around before taking the plunge, but it sure couldn't hurt!

Re: Sounds like a plan!

A better plan would be to support other company's that are in business primarily to assist signing agents. If that is their main focus and the other things such as supplies etc just helps them support the first, then those would be the ones I would support.
People who are looking for a quick buck or a way to make big bucks seldom look before they leap and if they do...they don't see what they don't want to see.
And....then there are those, like me, who have to have my own experiences before I make up my mind.

The NNA would be so useful if they concentrated on teaching every Notary how to do Notary work and provided a listing service of those people. Rather than trying to teach Signing Agents.

We find people who know less than they think they know...that cannot fill out a mortgage certificate and do not understand the difference between a jurat and an acknowledment, along with what they can and cannot do in each state.

Re: Sounds like a plan!

I agree with parts of your post Monica, but it it my opinion that the NNA will never be of any use to anyone, until they get completely out of the loan signing business. They need to remember WHY they're organization was originally founded.
