The Undersigned

Follow up of message 83984
In CA, I see a lot of documents with the wording ...before me, the undersigned, a Notary Public in and for the said State, personally appeared .... (the rest is good CA ack wording)
And, in the end
Signature_______________
_______________________
(Name typed of printed)
My commission expires___________

Do I have to cross out the whole ack and attach a loose cert or can I cross out "the undersigned" and put my name there?(at least in a couple of docs there was no space to write the name if I crossed out 'the undersigned')
From the thread I wasn't clear that the real issue is the phrase "the undersigned" instead of the Name or missing title (Notary Public). In the docs I am seeing the undersigned and the title.

this is what I do. I put a line on it, write " see attached" and I attache a loose certificate

It would be okay to do it that way, but I attach a loose Ack

looks neater that way.

I cross it out and write my name if there's space. There's nothing in the law that says it has to be preprinted that way. Just as long as it's all correct it doesn't matter if it's pretty or not.

For property in LA County make sure you attach a loose acknowledgement as the recorder is very picky and will not accept the document if you line out and insert above the lineout.
