Track payment using gmail
I have been on catch up mode in with bookeeping since my hard drive crashed couple months ago. I lost a brand new access database that I had just created then, and have been hesitant about using an old excel track sheet I've been using. I got creative using some of the features in gmail to temporaritly keep track of payments by:
1. Create an exclusive second gmail account. 2. Forward every signing confirmation there. 3. Use the "Star" feature to mark payment received. 4. Use the "Label" feature for company name, notate date received, and any descrepancies in payment. 5. Re-forward late payer the confirmation with a reminder or invoice attached (good paper trail).
Nothing fancy, but it's keeping me organized money wise.
