Vent about UPS and FEDEX

Had two signings today, one with a return envelope to UPS, the other to FEDEX. I wanted to get them both sent out today, so I went to the trouble of looking up both websites to find out if they had Saturday pickup. There was one UPS location that had a 4pm Sat. pickup, and the Fedex had one at 5pm. Perfect!

I drove 25 extra miles round trip to find out that neither one had Saturday pickup. Wouldn't you think their own websites would be updated with the correct information? Never again will I knock myself out to get docs out from a Saturday closing.

Their own websites SHOULD be up to date - were you at least able to call them to pick the packages up?

You'd think.... But they can't even manage to keep track of where the drop boxes are... I've called UPS two times to let them know that two of the drop boxes they have listed in for our city don't exist. To no avail, they are still posted on the website.

Re: Vent about UPS and FEDEX..you're right..

If that happens to me I'm in deep D**D** - I'm new to this state and am not real familiar with the area yet - I can only hope my maps are right - going to go locate the FedEx boxes (the 2 closest to me) tomorrow or Monday - already found the UPS Store - thankfully they were right where they were supposed to be!!

I know UPS has to pick the package up if you call and tell them you have a shipping invoice - not so sure FedEx is bound by that type of policy though especially since they've begun to put drop boxes at the post offices (which, trust me, as the wife of a retired postal worker, the post office is just THRILLED about that <toungue in cheek>Wink

Diga2Lin - do you have a Kinko's? You can always drop Fedex off there.

Post office has the Fedex boxes due to an agreement with Fedex. The Post Office gets space on Fedex planes for their Express mailings.

Not sure if there's a Kinko's in Lake City or not - going to have to check -

And trust me - whether by agreement or not - postal workers are not happy about the FedEx boxes being there!!...<G>

I don't like using UPS, their supplies are always empty or messy. Also, one of their labels is "Recipient" on the top and "Sender" on the bottom, exact opposite of Fedex. Recently sent one back to myself because of that....oops.

Don't feel bad, been there done that!

Luckily for me this co happened to be about 30 miles away here in wi. My fault, I drove up there and gave it to them, lesson learned.

Re: Vent about UPS and FEDEX - me, too Elizabeth!!

It happened to me, but thank goodness, it was only on a medical records affidavit - not a loan package.

Besty,

Not only is not having the websites up-to-date not acceptable, what about those drop boxes where pick-up times are changed? After almost missing a pickup a the local drop box (the time had been moved up 30 minutes--yeah, I know cutting it close), I have taken to calling either the respective 800 number or the local location to verify their pickup time. Yes, a hassle, but it has saved me on more than one occassion, especially when I am on the move in the car.
