What the consumer pays for you
Saw this article on the avg closing costs for each state. It includes closing costs. ( Sorry, you'll have to copy and paste the link)

Thanks Stamper...
Interesting to read, even though the survey itself is basically useless. Unless each of the GFE's were for the same rate you can't compare them.

I hope that didn't sound cranky.... I've been up most of the night with my daughter (asthma) My post was not directed at Stamper by any means. I'm thankful to have an opportunity to read articles I might not otherwise see. I just think that it is misleading and I see a lot of nonsense coming from Bankrate and I don't get why they're surveys are given the type of media and consideration that they do.
Sorry for the vent.... Have a great day all!

No problem. It IS what the consumer reads and its is not to far off the mark from what I see on the HUDS...at least for my area.

You're right on there... It IS what the consumers read, I think that's why it bothers me that they produce surveys that are flawed... They must know better. (Maybe not) Anyway comparing closing cost without taking the rate into consideration is sloppy.... Perhaps they asked for a specific rate from everyone surveyed and just forgot to mention it in the article. (But knowing Bankrate, I doubt it)
