What would be a reasonable fee?

I was wondering, what would be a reasonable fee for a round trip of 120 miles, overnite doc's no fax backs (so they say). Also taking this appt would prevent me from taking any others that day. When I quoted a price the woman on the other end was ..."oh! no we can't meet that!"

I regularly have my fee's met but recently I have been hit with a bunch of low ball offers, as has another notary in my area whom I'm friends with. We've discovered a notary who is taking these low offers from 2 counties away! I guess some people like to drive around and just have their gas money covered.

Serina & Gerry
I have in the past written many posts about the fees here in Vermont.
Many Notaries except Lower fees that is what my complaint was.
I do MANY signings in VERMONT and my fees are always met. Complaining about this only causes your blood pressure to go up, WE cannot control what others charge or what they do.
My only advice is to stick with your fees like We do and we can only do the best we can.
Good Luck
