overpayment

Not too many times does this happen but I received payment for a job completed and to my surprise it was 25.00$ over the amount I quoted them. I left a message on the SS accountant's voicemail but did not receive a response. I am a True and Honest person and probably will send this overpayment back. My only thing is that I have received overpayment with other SS and Title Co. and when I contacted them to let them know they always told me to keep it for a job well done. What would you do? Also if someone could please tell me how to remove my full name for showing up on the message board I would Greatly appreciate it.

In your profile you should have a forum nickname/handle. When you start a new message/thread or reply to one, there is a drop down next to where it says author. You have the choice of using your nickname/handle or your full name.

I would try to email the company and call again as well and give it a few days. If you don't hear back from them by then I would send it back. I always feel honesty is definitely the best policy. As to getting your full name off go to your profile and scroll on down to Forums option. Mine showed my Forums Alias as Sarah/Ca. Then click default identity below that and pick Forums Alias. Hope that helps.

You could also try sending them a statement showing a credit. Then they might call you for another signing instead of asking for a refund check.

That sounds like a great idea. This Co. used me alot until I went on vacation for a week its almost like they forgot about me. So yes maybe I will use this to help regain their business.

Thank YOU!!!!!!!!!

I think that she's already done the honest thing by calling and leaving a message about it. If they can't be bothered to call back about it, consider it a bonus for a job well done.

I tend to agree with you Cali. I have a notary friend who was paid by title and ss.

She called, called, called and called. It was such a waste of her time to try to continually explain it. I told her to forget about it until they finally got a clue.

Agree.

I was overpaid by a TC and when I called to let them know and I was told to consider it a bonus. I let the TC know that I owed them one and they said not to worry about it now because it would screw up their accounting.

Perhaps they sent you the fee they normally pay and your quoted fee was a little less than that but they sent you the whole amount anyway. Contrary to the others I would keep the money unless it was a great deal more than agreed.
