Go to search and type in sox. Very bad company. Also type in sign on the x.

They are notorious for their payment issues, or should I say non-payment issues. They are listed on the no no lists, NotaryBeware.com, and many others. Try sending them a collection letter demanding payment. Good luck to you.

Johna, you might consider not using all caps in your name. In the computer world, this is considered yelling/shouting, and is offensive to some. Only a suggestion though.

OH yes! Definately problems. Why I ever kept accepting assignments from them I'll never know. They still owe me for April, June and July. Of course it is a little early to even expect payments for July, based on their pay schedule. They had promised April and when the check finally arrived it was for May. I inquired as to why it was May, and they said they had decided to include it with June, ( go figure! )
Still the optimist, I will wait a little longer before I decide to try and collect with collection agency.
Changing the wording from "let the buyer beware" now is "Let the Notary beware"!

They owe me too. Only done a couple for them, I'm learning my lesson. This board is wealth of information.

So, has anyone in this group begun to build a paper trail?

Send the damand for payment letters certified mail, return receipt so you get a signature then a final demand for payment with late fees and a drop dead date to send it to collection or small claims and then follow through. They paid me after the drop dead letter ....... Then don't work for them again.

Re: So, has anyone in this group begun to build a paper trail?

I haven't called on this one yet, but I plan to. When I send a letter, I send it via fax, and put it on the letter that it is by fax and I keep my confirmation. Speaking of, I'll call them now. Smile

Letters sent by fax or email won't hold up in small claims

court. I learned this the hard way. They can always say that they did not get it even if you have an electronic confirmation in hand. When you make someone on the other end sign for it and you have the signature in hand, then it is impossible for them to deny receipt of the document. It also raises awareness on the other end that you are serious. Yes, it costs $4.50 or so, but you add that to your collection fees. Once I got past my learning curve, I have been successfull in 100% of my small claims and collection agency efforts except once when the SS filed chapter 7. Do not let them get away with it.

OK, I didn't think it would be an issue. I used to work for an attorney and he did that all the time. But I will take your advice and send it certified mail. Better to be safe than sorry. Thanks for the info.

Re: Well, thats what my attorney told me also, but ...

It's probably just different if you're an attorney and you're sending it to another attorney. Could you imagine an attorney saying to the judge, no sir I didn't receive that? Riiiiight. What you said makes sense and if I need to I'll certainly do that.

According to one poster on this board

It's all your own fault you haven't been paid because you didn't follow their payment instructions. How he can see a thread like this one and still come to the conclusion that there is nothing wrong with this company is really beyond me.

That is what exactly what I thought Glenn. He is either an employee, or a one-man fan club lol.

Re: According to one poster on this board

They have REALLY odd payment instructions. So odd in fact, that it seems they are created just so that the notary doesn't follow them and then are not paid "because you didn't follow the directions". What company tells you that you HAVE to fax in invoice, but that you CAN"T fax it until at least 24 hours AFTER the signing. There was something else odd they had you do, but I don't remember it off the top of my head right now. But basically, if you send in the invoice right away, they deem it invalid.. *boggle*

Re: According to one poster on this board

Only on the first of the month, if they didn't receive it within 3 months, they didn't owe you...must be sent on days NOT ending in "y"...oh & if the moon is new, 1st quarter, half, 3rd quarter or full, they didn't have to pay either...
