Adobe all versions

You can choose which version run best for your OS with the link below from Adobe. The latest is version 8 designed for winXP sp2.

Though it is "designed for XP sp2", it works great with Windows 2000 sp4. It is much faster and cleaner than previous versions.

Any caveats, PAW, NdWa?

I hate being the 1st kid on the block with a new toy... then find out it's flawed. What about XP, Svc Pack 3? Also, can you elaborate on what you mean by 'faster & cleaner'?

Me too Lee. I hate to find out the hard way.

My general rule is (especially with windows) "if it works, don't fix it"

Re: Any caveats, PAW, NdWa?

Version 8 of the Reader loads itself and the document much, much faster than previous versions. Version 8 screen layout and options (like being able to constantly display page sizes) is cleaner looking.

I only downloaded it onto the new computer I just built, but haven't update my regular computer.

Oh great great, just when I buy a new computer and get version 7.0 they go and come out with a newer version. Hahahahaha, jeezzz story of my life.

Do you have to uninstall 7.0 completely to upgrade to 8.0????????

Re: Any caveats, PAW, NdWa?

The version 8 install removes version 7. But, I would still manually remove any previous version prior to installing, just to be on the safe side. And don't forget to reboot after removing v7, prior to installing v8 and then again after installing v8.

Okay here's a dumb question

is it the Reader that is updated? I just loaded version 7 (paid for). Will Adobe give me the whole kit 'n kaboodle with this update or is it just an update for the reader?

(sorry for the ignorance....new computer and all).

There are no dumb questions when it comes to computers...

Both Acrobat and Reader have been updated to version 8. If you just bought version 7 of Acrobat within the past few weeks you're probably entitled to a full upgrade, but you should check with Adobe customer service.

LOL I know the de nada but what is

y buena suerte?

Your knowledge is better than mine. I do know I'm going to ND's site to see if I can upgrade my newly installed (and paid for...ahem) Adobe Acrobat.

Really, that software is EXPENSIVE, which surprised me. That's the price you pay for not upgrading your computer for seven years...I was using Windows NT 2000 professional. This is a whole new gig for me.
