Anybody in LA attending the 2007 NNA Conference?

It seems the price of attending will be cheaper if we become a sponsor. An exhibit hall space standard goes for $1500. Regular registration alone is $475 plus seminar fees. I’m looking for two or three fellow notaries/partners to split the exhibit fee ($500 to $700). $500 for the booth and $200 for marketing material. I’m a web designer so I can create the web site, print business cards, and promotional pens. If you offer more then notary service this will be a great opportunity. If your interested on joining forces please contact me at [e-mail address]
Thanks.

Not in this life!

I am Los Angeles as well. I started my career years ago with the NNA. They are a large part of the problem with saturatintg the market with signing agent that most likey will never make it. They are also responsible for setting the standard for the low fees we receive. I will never again give them one cent of my money.

Just curious why there is no phone numbers in your profile . How do you acept to receive any work?

Carmen

Re: Anybody in LA attending the 2007 NNA ---------Izzy

Better make sure you can swing it on what you cannot vs can give away. Seems like VRing got lots of notaries upset with her by selling ads on publication and then not being allowed to distribute materials a couple of years ago...something like that...had to do with the NNA conference.

I am like Carmen. Not going to give them a cent.

What a joke this conference is...what was it last year? Seven booths for notaries to visit?

BTW -

Will you be charging for the website, bus. cards and pens you make for others who might join your venture? Or, wait! Are you just trying to use this venue (AGAIN) to advertise your business?

Why don't thses people stay home or maybe get real jobs at Taco Bell, etc.? It seems that they all have their hands out for the quick buck and of course they have nothing to offer. Go away NNA!

Re: Did ya notice..

He does list a website in the bio area, but when you go there, it says, "This page is parked free, courtesy of GoDaddy.com". He also states he is a member of the LA County Bar Association (not sure what that means). I personally wouldn't waste any time on this one.

I'm just using the venue to advertise my business. I will provide my services for free if others join my venture.

Duh! Of course you're advertising! and AGAINST THE RULES!

Even though the rules say that we are not supposed to use the Forum for that purpose.

Did you mean....??

Did you mean that you plan to advertise your signing services at the NNA conference? Was that the venue you were talking about? If so, I recommend you save your money. No one is going to hire you just because you have a table. There are much more effective ways to invest in marketing your business. And there are tons of them available here via the search button.

If you meant that you want to market websites to other notaries... well, after reading the other comments here from those knowledgable folks who bothered to check out your website (obviously that doesn't include me), all I can say is good luck! You'll need it.

No, I'm not attending. I went to the one in Las Vegas so I've seen what it's like.

I looked at your profile and I recommend that you make a few changes.

From your profile: "PLEASE VISIT MY WEBSITE AT ICNOTARY.COM FOR MORE INFORMATION OR YOU CAN REACH ME AT THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION"

icnotary.com is a godaddy site with no information (still need to build your website???)

"... or you can reach me at..." at where?

By the way, you might consider not typing in all caps - it's really hard to read.

Echoing Barbara, inter alia

It is difficult to know where to begin in criticizing Izzy. The Profile that uses caps, lacks a contact phone number, AND promotes a CD for newbies?! The non-existant Web Site?! The real Site (no, I'm not going to help highly-questionable activity by listing the URL here!) that looks so amateurish?! Surely Harry will remove Izzy's self-advertising Post as soon as he sees it!

Sorry to yell there Ernest... but really you and Barbara...

If there's an idiot that can't be contacted that's sooooo much better for the rest of us than an idiot that can....

Re: DONT FEED THE TROLLS

Saying not to feed trolls is the quickest way to feed them, dontcha know!

A true troll is in troll heaven if he can get the forum to start bickering about that.

It's one of those built in instincts. We need food, shelter, and to feed the trolls.
