DEC.!, 2006 D-DAY

Just a reminder. Today is the NNA deadline to comply with guidelines REQUIRED by federal regulations. If you have not complied you will not be able to continue to handle loan signings.
Please turn in your Notary stamps if you have disrgarded this warning from the NNA.

Yes today is D-Day... I've read on another forum that the company the NNA uses has been doing a suckie job.

I am still on the fence. I've been doing fine without a BGC thus far. My life has not fallen apart... wow.

They are using the same people as land america - lexisnexis. I called the NNA and asked them.

So far the background checking company for the NNA has asked me for permission to check my Motor Vehicle License twice, and I've already gotten the background check.

I wonder why that need it twice.

They didn't need it twice. They were just so disorganized that they didn't know they already had it. Makes me worry about my personal information and how well cared for it will be.

I did comply with the NNA. However, I was unaware that signers could not sign for the smaller companies if they didn't comply. Have they lost their notary witness certification altogether?

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to confuse anybody, but a Witness Loan Closer or Notary Signer. I'm still not sure what to call myself...LOL. To be certified with the NNA you have to take their test and be background checked by them and then you can be called certified as a Witness Loan closer.

Re: Notary Witnes Certification....

If they're doing something shady, they will be stopped. What they told me was that they were trying to standardize what all Notary Loan Closers do and that it had been instituted by the 6 largest signing agencies in the United States. They Cited a law passed under President Clinton some ten years ago. When I asked why they were doing this now, they said that they were just now coming into compliance with that law. EVERYBODY has been upset by it.
