GPS users
Has anyone out there that uses a portable gps reveiver looked at, or know anything about the Polaroid portable GPS w/DVD? It has a 5.6" screen (some of the ones I've seen are to small for me, I don't want to put on my reading glasses while driving). The Garmin with the 7" screen looks very nice, but it's around a $1000! The Polaroid is about $350. Any suggestions? TIA!

I had a cobra 4500, the same size. Too big for me, it was too heavy to mount securely on the window and it wasn't up to date. I bought a Mio 310gx for $199 and it is great. It is smaller, but I don't look at it anyway, the voice instruction is great. good luck on whatever you choose.

For what it is worth, Verizon has a good GPS on their cell phones. It is called Navigator. It works perfect and you can either use bluetooth or an ear bud. It is at a cost of $9.99 a month and has never let me down in the very rural areas.

i agree and to me the font size is sufficient but i guess it depends on what size is comfortable for you. but it does have voice instruction as well.

I have a tomtom that I got for about $450 and it's wonderful. It also can work with a bluetooth enabled phone. You can answer your phone with it and be hands free instead of using a headset.
