I'm sorry Brenda, but did he not fall? See, the great thing about Gerald Ford...he had a sense of humor and could laugh at himself. Even about the fall. The man was also a stellar coordinated athlete at the University of Michigan, hence the Hail To The Victors send off. If he could laugh about it, couldnt you yourself chuckle about it in rememberance of him?

Oh come on...Ford had been laughing about that for over 30 years. Granted, National Fall On Your Ass Day was joke that fell flat but then, you're always gonna take shots from people that just dont get the joke. You dont get the joke, and I do. We see people take falls all the time on TV, especially on America's Funniest Home videos, so why cant the same candor be given to a former President when he dies.

I'd really be curious to see how respectfully everyone here treats Carter and Clinton when they die. I truly wonder if the words posted for them will be as respectful as you've told me how mine should be for Ford.

There you go folks....Jahari's real reason to post here.

You just cant help starting political rivalry on this board, can you?? It took about 4 posts for you to get the the point - more politics.

Posts about how "everyone here" won't be respectiful (talking about future presidential death's - ahem, democratic ones). Brenda thought you sounded mean and petty and you go straight to the arumentative political bully that you are.

Before you made that post, the topic was a past president's death. A past president, regardless of the party they are affiliated with deserve respect and rembrance for the position they held, all of them - whether republican or democrat.

Gentle reminder Jahari - it's clear in the guidelines for posting that you avoid anything political. You blew it again.

Do you have ANYTHING to offer that other signing agent's might find helpful or can we look forward to more political bullying and hounding from you?

You're like a freakin door-to-door religious zealot that keeps ringing the doorbell, uninvited.

Are you prepared for Jehovah's come Sue? ;P

Sue, I have read the guidelines and I've done nothing wrong. There was nothing partisan in my posts at all as you'd like to suggest. Quite frankly, you're making it up. If there are to be no political posts, Cali shouldnt have posted about Gerald Ford's passing. I personally dont mind the posting but using the standard created by your gang's (il)logic, and how I've been made the whipping boy in the past about posts of a political nature, this shouldnt have made the board. I paid my respects, my way, flat joke and all. After reading all the posts in this thread, many of you are holding this man up on a pedestal. While he was a President, lets not forget, he was simply a man. HE lived, he breathed, he had a wife and family that loved him. He never wanted to be President, but because of the circumstances and Article II in the Constitution, he took the oath and was sworn in. He could have resigned but, he didnt. Duty called and he answered. Being the student of history that I am, he saved Nixon's bacon. I did not care for his pardoning of Nixon but I guess I can understand why he did it. The man had a sense of humor and would have gotten my joke.

As for Presidents past, present, and future, again I will question how gentle and respectful you and others will be when you post about Carter and Clinton. I will see first hand how your respect for Presidents fly out the window with your utterance of "Jimmy the Peanut", "Slick Willie", and "Bubba" in your posted comment on their death, you again will find yourself in that most uncomfortable of spots for yourself...THE hypocrite.

Good night, and Good Luck

**I paid my respects, my way, flat joke and all.**

Jahari - Oh I understand the way you pay respects now! Thank you!

Yes, the President laughed at himself. I laugh at myself. I thought we all laughed at what we cannot control to cover insecurities and to manage the reality of actual pain inflicted by stupid people who make fun of our weaknesses...tripping...lack of raising...bad manners...lack of beauty by social standards. But that's just me. What do I know?

Let me help you respect me in the same way if I am to pass. Now, I won't ever make it to SNL or to Letterman, so here's a good one for my send off:

"She was fat as a kid, but she made jokes about it--if you can't stop it, you learn to laugh about it. Great sense of humor, that one. Rest in peace porky girl! Here's a refrain from all her favorite memories: Fatty, fatty two by four, can't get through the bathroom door."

(There's more, of course, but the fat part is the easiest to reconcile in my mind. There's lots of other weak places for bullies to push at...perhaps I should make a list so I can have more "respect" paid to me.)

Now, *that's* the way I hope I am remembered. Sure I do! Please print this out in case of my demise so that you can pay your respects to me in such a perfectly wonderful way...same as you did President Gerald Ford.

If you've got a weakness or imperfection you'd like shared at your passing, please do post it so we can properly pay our respects.

Unfortunately, it's unlikely you'll beat me to the late night shows to poke fun at yourself on television. Maybe you will...if you get busy now and stop playing trollish word games on the notary board.

Now if I knew you well, I'd tell a joke or two about you that you'd be very comfortable with and likely laugh with me about. Follow that up with a story or two (one of which may be a story from when you were a fat kid.) and send you off into the ether, again my way. With humor, respect, and honesty. "Seeing as there was no post about James Brown's death on Christmas Day, I thought I'd post about it being the cultural icon he was. The man had his troubles but in the end he persevered and "moved on" (also the title of his come back song). Godfather, you will be missed. There will be many imitators, but never another like you. Finally the hardest working man in show business can take that much deserved rest."

THIS comes a lot closer to "idolizing" than anything anyone else posted about President Ford. Any way you look at it...starting your thread with "National Pardon a Felon Day" is a cheap, cheap shot. Please note there isn't a disparaging word about James Brown from the board in that thread...nothing but accolades. For you as an ultra liberal to insinuate your lame "joke" about someone of a different political persuasion can be defined as "humanizing" is preposterous. Let ONE member of this board take a stab at a humorous, but negative remark about James Brown & there's not a doubt in my mind who'd be the one caterwauling their head off in protest.

I think James Brown's arrest record speaks for itself. How many times was he arrested for beating his wife? How many different drug charges did he face? How much time in prison did he serve?

I'm sure there's a joke about his wife Adrienne (the one he repeatedly beat the crap out of) waiting for him at the pearly gates with a baseball bat, or a joke about him getting anally gangbanged during his prison time, but I'm just not clever enough to think of it.

James may have been a musical legend, but he was a scumbag of a human being.

Hm. I wonder if you'd feel the same someone aired Ann Coulter's dirty laundry? I think you'd worship that person as your hero.

What Cali wrote was a FACT about James Brown. Why do you have such a hard time accepting fact? Many men treat women terribly, abuse, adultery, etc. The more famous they are, the more they have the opportunity. Hey did you know Martin Luther King was an aldulterer?

And you might notice he called you on your "and if ANY ONE ON THIS BOARD SAYS ANYTHING about James Brown...." empty threat statement.

So whatcha gonna do 'bout it?? Huh?? huh?

In regard to James Brown and this phantom post you say I posted, please instead of making shit up, post the message number because I'd really love to see it myself. I believe you have that post confused my post about how much respect you will have for Carter and Clinton when they die.

As for this personality disorder or what you incorrectly claimed to be a personality disorder, you are referring to the Johari Window which is a tool used to help people to better understand interpersonal relationships. Yet another thing you got way wrong. Perhaps you can use The Google on the internets and actually look up something besides datamining my name and life. Actually, the "dirty laundry" is mentioned in pretty much all of the major news stories that I've read about his death. What a nice euphemism you came up with to minimize the spousal abuse, the drug abuse, the multiple prison terms, the police chase, etc.

I love that you don't think he's a scumbag for actually beating his wife, but you think I'm a scumbag for stating that he beat his wife. Care to explain that one Jihad?

Further? I suggest that the Pam's of the world (because she's female) should try harder to see the truth. Women get all wrapped up in ideology and spinmasters. When they get hit square in the face with facts, they do one of two things: babble some pre-programmed $hit or just fold.

I sort of like it that a gay male is far more supportive of women (eg. Brown's wife) by saying the truth than those who follow spew $hit about race or spout blind ideology.

Again, thanks.

Honestly, I don't remember what we did for the RTC date when Reagan died. The same stuff that happens on every federal holiday. So if you want to do this semantics stuff with me, feel free. I will not attempt to analyze you, or attach a specific disorder to your behavior on this forum as I am not a doctor and that would be irresponsible of me. But I will go so far as to recommend that you seek professional help to find out why you feel compelled to act in such a manner. At the very least, Jahari, some personal inventory would perhaps be helpful. Take some time to reflect, honestly, about why you act the way you do.

Good to see you, Kyle! Let me tag up here with a little

food for thought on this political stuff before Harry locks up this thread (?) if he does.

It does not matter what any of us in this forum think about any past or current President...the rubber meets the road when we look at ourselves in the mirror and ask, "Have I ever achieved any slight measure of greatness in the majority of my country's voters like this man has?"

No. No, not a one of us has who writes here...except for the men and women who have served our country in the military. Only they are as great in service to the USA as our Presidents have been. Only they have the right to mock because they have served with their life, heart and soul.

Not a one of the clanging, banging, whining self-serving little pissy-ant attitudes have substance in comparison to what the people who have served us in the Oval Office have done and have achieved...this includes all of them. All we have loved and all we have hated...they have all been something we are not and never will be on the national level that they are...unless we have served with our lives in the military....and, I sure as heck haven't...but then again, I am not deluded into thinking I am great enough to cast a stone at one of the giants in office or who have served this country in the military....some here are sorely deluded into thinking that they are! They believe Freedom of Speech means entitled to disdain and disrespect and spit on what is service to our nation while having no guts and no glory to their credit but only hollow, funky, derisive words to discredit what they know they can never be...not even on a small scale. I can disagree. I can express my disagreement and I can vote...but I will not mock any of them.

Our visions are immature and miniscule in the shadow of presidents. They all have their human weaknesses...but they are all better than those of us who have not even tried to serve this county in a MATERIAL way. Oh, we like to pretend we know it all...but we are only full of words if we have not served this country in some true way. Pride goes before a fall...I know I am not worthy.

To fantasize that anyone of us (aside from our military vets) have reached any measure of their greatness by our self-effort, or a focused intent, or by having real vision or determination is a comedy routine played out on the surreal perceptions of the delusional one who believes their mocking words cast sharply at any president has anything but noise to them. Our individual and/or collective words which are without deeds have not a sliver of meaning.

Get real. What a huge joke this mocking of greatness is. LOL

This is a tragic comedy...a feast of wordsmiths...a bunch of stupid, inane hooey perpetrated on this notary board...IMHO...all expressed by my right to freedom of speech because of those who actually DO something material for our great country.

Re: Awww, She's beautiful Brenda

Yeah, that dog is a dandy, isn't she! Her handlers are the boys in the Corps of Cadets. Any Aggie Lady who gets married can request Reveille's sitting with her for a portrait.

Where but Texas would a woman want her bridal portraits to include one with a dog?

And, thank you. Christi, for your continued prayers for Evan to you and all the other notaries who continue to visit his blog. I appreciate it more than you know.

I said **Yeah, that dog is a dandy, isn't she!**

I am very proud of Angela too! I meant to mention that...I hope that was also clear.

What a fun tradition. (At least for doggie people)

And don't worry, we can tell you're a proud MIL to be!
