Get a load of this one - especially newbies
Yesterday, I had a call from a ss telling me that they had a closing yesterday, (meaning Wednesday) and the notary did not see the redraw of documents on her computer and had the wrong set of documents signed. Well, the notary is "too busy" today to go back out there and "would you do it and date the docs yesterday since they were all signed yesterday, but they signed the wrong set of documents?" I said NO, that's illegal.
then, yesterday also, I had another company request that I send back with my closing package a BLANK ack (but with my signature and seal on it) just in case my seal is "smudged" or missed on one of the docs. DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Needless to say - I didn't do either one but maybe this information just might help a newbie. All of the rest of you know how to handle these kinds of situations. Oh, and yes, I called the SOS for each party and reported them about their illegal request.

What are these signing companies thinking? I have had that request a couple of times also and I told them "no, it is illegal" and they said they would never work with me again. Okay - that's fine by me. As for wanting you to send a blank ack, that's a new one for me and I think I'd report them to the Secretary of State in your particular state. Wow!!! how dumb do these people think we are???
