I'm not Quite Sure...

...what to think of this, but a poster on another message board stated the NNA is going to have a float in the upcoming Rose Bowl parade in January. Since I never know for sure whether a posting like this is true or not, I went to the official Tournament of Roses web site & sure enough...the NNA is listed as a participant.

The poster on the other board stated the NNA sent around an e-mail soliciting Notaries to assist in the decorating of the float. Wonder why they didn't invite me?

Let's see....Dennis lives in MO...the parade is in CA....hmm

.....an airplane ticket would cost.....hmmmm. I can't think of any reason why you didn't get invited (smile). I didn't either, Dennis, so don't feel bad.

Maybe all the $50 SA's are helping decorate? I mean...

not like they'd lose out on lots of income by taking a week off, right?

Well, I think that attending a Rose Bowl Parade and working on a float are two things worth putting on your list of "Things To Do Before I Die". Fortunately, I can already check both of them off, because if I went to the parade and saw their float, I might be tempted to throw tomatoes!! (At least they're all natural - fit the rules! Truthfully, though, those floats are even more amazing up close!) I will definitely make a point of watching the parade but I hope I don't gag when it see their float!

We shouldn't be too surprised. What better way to promote themselves before millions. I wonder if the float will be exhorting people to become a notary an get on the NNA gravy train... hmmmmm

PS. I'm NOT surprised they didn't invite ME for float decorating! ;>Wink

There's a Rumor I've Heard...

...on semi-somewhat good authority that the NNA has chosen the theme "Pied Piper" for their Tournament of Roses float. The music will be performed by Crispian St Peters from his hit song of 1966 titled "The Pied Piper". For the uninitiated Notary (i.e. newbie) here are the lyrics so you can follow along on New Years Day.

"You
With your masquerading
And you
Always contemplating
What to do
In case heaven has found you
Can't you see
That it's all around you
So follow me

[1, 2: Hey] come on, babe
Follow me
I'm the Pied Piper
Follow me
I'm the Pied Piper
And I'll show you where it's at
Come on, babe
Can't you see
I'm the Pied Piper
Trust in me
I'm the Pied Piper
And I'll show you where it's at

Girl
Don't be scared to move
Hey, babe
What are you tryin' to prove
It ain't true
That your life has kicked you
It's your mind
And that's all that's trickin' you
So step in line

Come on, babe
Follow me
Come on, babe
Trust in me
Come on, babe
Can't you see
Come on, babe
Follow me
I'm the Pied Piper"

Re: There's a Rumor I've Heard... LOL!!!

If that's true, it seems very apt to me! Fits right in with their marketing tactics!! Wink

Good grief! They're everywhere you don't want them to be.
