Is This for Real?
Received an urgent phone call from a signing company regarding an appointment last week. The documents have not been received and the company is frantic. Wanted to know what happened to the docs?
Explained that I do not know what they are talking about. That this is the first time, I've heard of this. However, Scheduler "swears" that I am the notary assigned (per her notes and that it is my coverage area).
I asked what e-mail address were the documents sent, she replied "I don't know."
I asked what name is on the confirmation. "Can't find it. Will have to do more research . . ."
This is the first time someone has accused me of working on an assignment when I did not, and of not returning documents when they were never issued to me!
Plus, although my name is in this company's database, I have not completed any assignments for them.
I later called them to follow-up and they are "still researching." However, the Scheduler states that I may have to return again and "re-do it".
What in the heck is this woman talking about? I never accepted any assignment from this company in the first place!
Really ticks me off. . .!
Pam

What are They Gonna Do...
... when you refuse to take the re-do? Not pay you?

Similar thing happened last week. This person was screaming that I did not notarize the DOT, after asking the name of the borrower, I stated I did not know this person. She kept going on and on, stating that I would be responsible for this person losing their lock, their mortgage, their house, ad nausem. Finally when she stopped to take a breath, I asked her to look at the AKA document and see if there was a notarization there. Once she did that she saw someone else had notarized that page, she then asked if I would go out and get it fixed with the original date. No thanks, I'm busy. Sometimes this is an awfully odd business.

Don't lt bother you. It happens now and then. I have had similar experiences. It is usually from a signing company that is disorganized and the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Sounds like the scheduler meant to assign you to the signing, got distracted forgot about it and just figured it was done and now is trying to cover herself. ...

the closest I've come
to something similar was to receive docs for a signing I did not accept. Much confusion after contacting company.

Re: Is This for Real? Sound like a new notary game to me
If this scheduler is trying to pull a fast one on you which I believe to be the case. They can't find the information/confirmation but they knew it was you...re-do it? too funny ;-D
I would think twice when they really call with a job. Sound like they want a freebie the games goes on and on.
I could be very wrong
