Journal Entries
I am completely delighted with my Journal purchased here, I think it's the best! However I have a question after reading other boards....one of the things I was most pleased about with Harry's Journal is that you don't have to make numerous entries for the same signer. On another board an instructor states that they too have this journal but list each doc separately and get a sig for each doc sealed. Fortunately (or unfortunately) for me I'm following the guidelines within the journal and only using one line per signer. Is this acceptable or am I on the slippery slope?

I was told either is acceptable to do....My pref is to keep it to one signature
or is each state different?

I'm pretty sure the whole idea in the design of this journal (I use it too and LOVE it) is to do away with the need for multiple entry lines.
The only time I place seperate entries in my journal is when I am signing a first and second with a borrower. I use one line for the first mortgage and another for the second.
NJ doesn't even have a journal requirement, so I can pretty much do whatever I want with it.

Yep yep...Zee forced me to go back to my primer just to make sure I was compliant. I have found this journal sooooo much easier to use that I just didn't give it much thought when I started it. After reviewing my States requirements the journal is compliant and the way I'm using it is also right on. Can't imagine having to list each individual doc and getting a sig for each one. Ugh!

If you have different dates on the docs....
where do you enter the dates associated with each doc you have checked? I usually enter the date on the DOT in the first box for doc date.

Re: If you have different dates on the docs....
I do too Larry and so far, knock on wood, all my docs have been dated the same.

Re: If you have different dates on the docs....
Exactly, and where do you put the time for each notarial act?

I put the time I begin the signing....
to be the signing time for all docs in the package.
