LandAm Direct Deposit?Google Check out
Did anyone else get the letter indicating LandAm merging with Nationwide and will go to direct deposit in 2007?
Hope that is a trend. Easier to check online then to get and track checks.
Also, Google check out dropped fee to $2% plus $.20 per transaction. Might be good for supplies and stuff. A direct attack on Ebay and Paypal.

Ooops. Google check outis actually free in 2007 and then fees in 2008. Thus, perhaps people could pay you online for free!
Techo wizards where are you?

The issue I have with Direct Deposit
from SS companies is that they now have MORE personal information about you. Not only do they want your SS#, DL#, firstborn (just kidding...for now) -- they'll also have your bank information. Thanks, but I'll wait for the check to come in the mail.

Plus
what if they underpay you?? Currently, I won't cash the check until I get resolution (don't want any agreement of amount due/paid due to my cashing the check & potentially accepting the lesser pay by virtue of cashing the check.

Me too.
I don't provide my bank account information to anyone except those I write checks to. And I do most of that online, so my bank account number never appears on the "payment".

I agree. It's bad enough of the brouhaha of these no good, undercutting, giving you 4 dollar bills in stead of an easy 5... LOL... In all seriousness, I bank on line and I am so leery about people having my personal info. I'd rather give a money order than a check and rarely do I use checks- actually I phased them out. And if I do need to send a check the bank sends out a version which I belive has less info than the physical checks you purchase (not certain)
I also agree that if the company undercuts the agreed upon fee- direct deposit will not help. I would reconcile before hand before anything is banked.
