Letter of Recomendation.

I have a Title Co asking for a letter of recomendation from othe SS or Title in order to be included in their database. Have anybody been asked this? Have you asked a SS or TL for one of this? I have a few SS that I have very good relationships but I dont know if I should.

Thank you.

I've had a couple wanting me to give "references". Companies I have worked for. I gave them the the contact information for these people/companies. I have not asked anyone to writh me a letter of recomendation.

Be Very Careful

As suspected, this could be just a way to get contact info for you clients. A few months ago, someone on this board gave 3 title references to a SS only to be alerted by their title client that the SS was calling on them for business.

I always give SS references to SS's and Title references to Title Companies. Give them companies like ILS, NREIS, GAC, IREP etc. That's hardly secret info you're passing on, yet satisfies their requirements for application.

Just my opinion

Re: Be Very Careful

Ditto. SS=SS TC=TC. I even give a couple that have recently gone out of business. I never hear back on them and usually get work from the new companies. Those are only names of companies and not letters.
