Lost pages???

Hi;

I did a loan signing back 12/20/06 very late signing. I just got a call telling me that there were added docs that need to be signed?

Agency said, title co told them they weren't signed. I know for a fact that they were sign, sent back by fedex. Some where along the line the pages must have been lost.

Now, I told the agency that I would charge them for going back...I know I had the borrowers sign. Now, does this mean SA have to make a copy of everything we do to prove it????

Agency is upset...that I would charge them? Another late nite as borrowers work late? Gas etc. and plus I know I had them sign. Was I wrong in charging them? OMG! I just got another call telling me only the husband and the Mom need to sign...Hummmm How Did the wife sign and not the others????

This has happened to me too. I knew very well they were in the package and signed. Common tactic for TC errors to blame the notary.
You are quite right to request fee for another trip, don't back down. - Good luck.

They agreed...lets hope I get paid...even the borrower asked why if all of them had signed.
I took the blame....Will go back tonite to have them husband/mother in law sign...Thanks!!!

I was once told I did not get the Affidavit of Continuous Marriage signed. I knew very well they signed this as they questioned this form and we discussed it. Had to go back out and they argued with me that it was my error. Then 2 weeks later they said I did not get the Mortgage signed. I said BS. I longer work for this company because they blamed me and said I forgot to get it signed. Then about a month later I get an apology and they said someone lost the paperwork. They lost the account and now I work for another title company that does their loans.

No. An occasional mistake or possible mistake would never offset the cost of making an extra copy of the package and keeping it. Plus... I wouldn't keep copies no matter what... it is someone else's personal information.

***I just got another call telling me only the husband and the Mom need to sign...Hummmm How Did the wife sign and not the others????***

Ask them to fax the document to you pronto... that's usually the quickest way to assess any alleged mistake. BTW... were all the people on the DOT also borrowers or did you have some no-obs? It could be that you had the wrong people sign something and the person you are speaking with doesn't understand... they are just relaying a message.
