My Commission ends 23 Dec
My CA commission ends 23 DEC. Can I still notarize on the 23rd? Does the commission end midnight of the 22nd, or midnight of the 23rd? I have passed my test, but I am waiting for the letter from the Secretary of State. Has anyone else had this problem or does stuff like this only happen to people like me...

Call the Secretary of State's office. They usually send out the letter 30 days prior to the end of your commission. I called them two weeks prior to mine expiring because I hadn't received anything and it was determined that my letter had been lost in the mail. They sent another and I was able to take care of everything before my first commission expired. You can stamp on the 23rd, just not after without your new stamp which will have a new commission number and expiration date.

Just called SOS
I just called the Secretary of State, they said it would probably be 2 weeks before they process applications submitted when mine was submitted & there is nothing they can do to expedite. Looks like I will have 2 weeks without a commission...

Re: Only one thing left to do...
I figure next week will be slow, but the first week of the year can be very busy for me...
