NNA Float Theme: Coincidence?

I designed my own websites (allpointsnotary.com and allpointsnotary.net) in January of '05 and am a member of NNA and NSA.

Much to my surprise, just as everyone else found out about their float in the Rose Parade via, their e-mail announcement, their slogan is "Signed, Sealed & Delivered."

I let Timothy S. Reiniger, Esq. Executive Director know of this and mentioned "intellectual property law," however, did not receive a reply.

Don't you just love coinkidinks? What would you do?

I have absolutely no idea what you're trying to say here.

What is the coincidence? What does the title of a Stevie Wonder song have to do with your designing your own websites and what does either have to do with the Rose Parade float or intellectual property law?

Thanks for your quick response, CaliNotary.

What I should've mentioned is "Signed, Sealed & Delivered" is my business slogan.

And it's also the title of a very famous song that's been around for 36 years. Why on earth do you think that you have intellectual property rights to it? If anything, you've violated Stevie Wonder's intellectual property rights by adopting as your business slogan.

Don't flatter yourself, they didn't steal it from your website.

Okay, okay...I realize it's "much ado about nothing." (Uh, oh...did I take that from someone else as well?)

Just to let anyone know I didn't take it from the NNA's float theme.

BTW, wasn't Stevie Wonder's song "Signed, sealed, delivered?" (Without the "and"Wink

Do you have your slogan trade marked? I don't know if you could trade mark that phrase, if it were possible, then you might have a gripe. Till then, give the real credit to Stevie Wonder.

I've seen a few notaries with that slogan on their card

and that's just in CA. I think it goes back even further than Stevie Wonder.
