National Notary Association Float
I help with the NNA Float on December 27,2006. I wanted to help so that I could say on January 1, 2007 that I help with that float. I had fun with two family members. I talked to the float builders which they said the NNA was not doing anything for the people that help with the float. I hope that the NNA starts thinking about there membership. Instead of just making money for themself.

Is it a normal practice to ...
do something for those who help build the float? I'm glad you had fun, it must be a neat experience (regardless if it was the NNA or not). However, (being philosophical here) in life, you can't always give of something and expect something in return.

Re: Is it a normal practice to ...
Most people who work on floats are volunteers, however the builders do (or at least used to) hire groups to help. I have lots of very fun memories of decorating as a kid with my church youth group. That was one way we raised funds for camp and such. It is a great experience and staying all night to see the parade is also a great experience. At least for young people, it would be really hard on these old bones now. lol

Rick: Check the spelling on your profile. It can create a an impression that you don't want. Harry
