Notary seal overlapped words
My notary seal border, which is a see-through ropelike border, overlapped a few words on a Warranty Deed. The words "mentioned in this instrument" are still legible, so I didn't do it over. I should have done it over, just to be safe, but has anyone had a document rejected because of this? (Everything on my seal is legible)

i use an embosser and impress right over the words if there is not enough blank space....have never had [in 44 years] a rejection......attys in this state just emboss where they feel like even if there is blank space.....the nice thing about an embosser is you can usually read the raised letters of the doc............

I no longer use the embosser (for loan locs) because it has to be inked afterwards to allow for legible photocopy and microfiche of the original.
Some docs don't hardly give enough room for a proper rubber stamp seal. The slight infraction noted above is very minor and I have never seen or heard of a recorder rejecting due to this. I think they are realizing there sometimes just isn't enough room. Of course, you must try to NOT to cover any verbage.

with a stamp i understand as the ink can block a word...thats why i don't use a stamp...what ever they want to do with the photocopy issue is really not my problem.....some times they rub it with a pencil [is that spelled right?] in order to have a copy show the seal........

this is one of my pet peeves
I really love the ones that have one small area to stamp in and they print the word seal smack dab in the middle! Of course these are usually the ones that I get special instructions saying " Please don't stamp on any wording" ERRRRG!

If we use an embosser for a recordable item it must be reproducable or it is rejected. Hence the use of ink. Man if I used an embosser for all notarizations by arm would be bigger than my leg. Easier to do 12 oz. curls LOL.

we don't have that requirement here.....maybe thats why my right hand is larger than the left....just kidding......but i would still rather use embosser than stamp.....thats what happens when your old fashioned and have been a notary to long........
