Signing this evening

I called the borrower several times to confirm the appt time and no phone call back. Signing is supposed to be in 45 minutes. Can not get ahold of the hiring company. Would you just show up at borrower(s) home? Not sure what to do.

Thanks

Yes, I would go anyway. The company should pay you regardless.

Always show up (CYA). Some BO just don't return calls but if even after several attempts and leaving message you should be there.

I wouldn't go

When that has happened 2 me, brwrs were either out of town or LO was trying to get them to sign a loan they didn't want.

I always try to find an alt # on my own. Look at 1003. 411.com etc

But I would go if I got written conf from TC that I would be pd full fees if brwrs didn't appear let alone sign.

Definitely show up!

Check the Application in the package. There may be other numbers listed for the borrowers. Sometimes the number you were given to reach them may not be correct, and the Application may have the correct number.
There are reasons why borrowers might not return your voice mail messages. I always call the signing agency or title company if I am unable to reach the borrowers within a reasonable time to see if they have a different number for them or if they can get a different number from the lender or loan officer. Some of my experiences are: (1) borrowers out of town, had to leave for a errand or sudden emergency, but they know the time you are supposed to arrive and are rushing to get home in time to meet you; (2) borrowers' cell phone voice mail is not working and they didn't get the callback message; (3) confirmation has incorrect phone number or lists work number as their cell phone number, and they haven't been to work today to get your message; (4) borrowers are out of coverage area for their cell phone and are unable to retrieve your messages
If all else fails, I do search the phone book and online to try and find a valid number for the borrowers.
And if all else fails, I absolutely still go to the closing. If the borrowers are not there, I wait 1/2 hour and then call the signing agency, title company and/or loan officer to let them know what happened. If they don't pay or only pay a small trip fee, I make sure I remember that for the next time the agency calls so I can turn them down.

One more reason

They still have dial up internet, and have been surfing the web and never heard the phone ring.
Go to the appt., pass go and collect your fee.

Re: One more reason

I did show up and I am glad I did. The borrower was having a problem with incoming calls. Thank you all for your help. Have a great weekend.
