What are the odds of this happening????

Well the story goes a little like this..... Get the call e-docs 1 hour 20 minutes one way travel. I agree and charge them of course. I print all the docs , the borrower was expecting me @ 6:30 pm . left my home @ 7:00. Typed address into my garmon, "love her" I look down and see I'm low on gas and have 65 miles One way. Stop to fill up................ I forgot my wallet, oh no!!!! Call husband and he said go to signing and call me on your way home and I meet you and get you some gas. Signing went fine,,, traveling in this unknow town and blue light flashes !!!! You guessed it the police. Hi mam, did you know you have a head light out.. "oh no did'nt know that"! He said "thats ok, can I see your license? I said " oh ,,well thats the thing, I don't have my purse with me, blah, blah, blah, but I do have my notary stamp!. He said how about your registration. He takes it to his car and runs back and said "mam its your lucky night I just got a call on a robery in progress! Ok,,,,,, drive slow ,,,,,don't run out of gas....and would'nt you know it 15 minutes later another flashing light. Its the state trooper this time. Same line, mam did you know you had a head light out? I said yes I just got stopped, he said " where is the paper work, "means ticket"! I said he gave me a verbal warning. Can I see your drivers license, well thats the thing officer. But I do have a notary stamp!. He took my registration and went to his car and sat or wrote for about 5 minutes. Meahwhile my gas gauge is on low, light comes on. Officer comes back and said this is a warning. Ok do I ask him for money for gas, no of course not. He just left me off the hook.
Anyway called my husband to meet me at closed gas station. He called me and said the bay bridge was closed all but 2 lanes and he's stuck in traffic. Finially I made it to the gas station where I waited 1 hour for husband, as I pulled in to the Shell, "you guessed it no gas.
It will be a happy ending if Express Notary pays me!!!! After all that !

Kimmy

I always keep a extra $20 in my briefcase just for these emergency's. It also come's in handy on Monday mornings for lunch money for my son when I have run out of checks. :o)
Another thing I do is carry a Walmart shopping card with about $20 on it in my briefcase. I can use this at their gas station if I need to.

I've never actually tried this, but could your husband have called the gas station and given them a credit card number to charge? Seems to me that would work.

Sharon, that makes a lot of sense, but have you ever tried to get a conv. store clerk to consider that? I think it'd be a 10% maybe chance...IF the boss was running the store that day. Otherwise, leave me alone so I can call my boyfriend back.
