'Tis the season
Well folks we've nearly completed another year and tis the season for counting our blessings. In talking with a fellow SA that I network with the other night we both were counting our blessings in that we have never experienced some of the nightmare signings we read about. For nearly 2 years for myself (and longer for him) we've never been in a home where we couldn't handle the cleanliness (or lack thereof), we've never been threatened, we've never been screamed at by either BO's or LO's. We've been lost but always have been found, we've had no signs with no anger leveled at us personally. We've been invited to dinner and sent off after the signing with steaming bowls of hot vegetable soup. We've been invited to church and to family gatherings if "we're ever in the neighborhood". We've gotten to hold babies, newborn kittens and puppies and we've held the hands of new widows and widowers. Finally neither of us have ever been stiffed by the SS or Title Companies, we're thinking it must have more to do with areas of the country than it does with this glorious field we've chosen for ourselves. Today we consider ourselves truly blessed.

Perhaps what you experience regularly is simply 'Southern grace', and how blessed you are! Having been raised primarily in the South, proper manners and etiquette dictated that our behavior should always be gracious, even under fire. Not to say that my Northern family (in MN) are less gracious... they have what is commonly known as "Minnesota nice". (watch the movie 'Fargo') Down here in SW Florida, it's pretty hit-or-miss. We have such a large transient population that you never really know what you're walking in to

We've all got reasons to give thanks
Each day I give thanks for the people here at Notary Rotary who have provided so much help. An online community is still a community.
Although I've been assaulted by a borrower, been in homes where I would not have gone unless it was absolutely required, waited what seemed like eternities for edocs, served a dying woman who reminded me too much of my mother on her own deathbed, and slid through snow and ice, I remember many great times also.
When Lady Rouge (she of the Red Hat) sees the stressful situations she asks why I continue to do what we all do. No, I'm not a masochist. The good outweighs the bad, and being a Notary Signing Agent is a very fulfilling profession.
Thank you for your Post, SueW!

good post Sue and congrats on your clean signing record. You've been blessed! I've been in a few doozies myself, but this year seemed to be much better as far as entering homes that I could breathe in. Never been screamed at by either borrower or company.I've only chased down two companies for payment and I feel lucky with those odds. I've made some great business associates and got a new hairdresser, he's the bomb! counting my blessing too!
