Mosy importantly, I am a tpl. With bond, e&o and background check. I faxed all of these items along with a copy of my license, to every co. I sign for. I will close over 500 loans this year, legally.
As for sox, I closed 23 for them, earlier in year and got paid for all. The current troublesome batch, has 2 over 90 days, and the rest are for 70 days or less. I admit I have trouble deciding when enough is enough.
I am concerned, as you are, that anyone would be closing without the tpl. My sources all insisted on proof that I am legal. I beat them to the punch.
