mentoring
I am looking for a mentor. I have done one signing, which went o.k. I have had my commission for a few months at this point, I do think some guidance is in order for me. I am in the Fremont, San Jose, Union City, Hayward area. If someone feels kindly toward me and my need for mentoring, please email me at [e-mail address]. We can set an appointment to discuss fees, scheduling and the basic necessities regarding this career path. Thank you

Phyliss, two things: 1. Study your notary handbook. Research notary law. Go through past threads here, do a search there is a "newbie" thread that has a lot of information in it. Remember you are a notary public first, then a signing agent.
2. I see that you have a real estate license. If you are licensed then you should have a good knowledge base of loan documents. Go through some packages in your office and maybe get one of your co-workers to sit by while you explained the documents to them.
3. You need to do some work on your website. At the bottom of the screen your contact link is overlaid with some other wording.
I wouldn't really count on getting a mentor unless (maybe) you are willing to travel far from your operating area, after all, who wants to train their competition.
Good luck.

Good luck on that request, but I don't see Toyota coming to the aid of Ford or GM in their times of crisis, nor do I see one of your competitors coming to your aid. My suggestion to you is to market your service and continue to plug away, your day will come.

Hello Phyllis... John gave you some great advice, I would
also consider making a separate website for your home care services. It looks like you have too much going on and aren't committed to signing full time. Most companies and this is just my opinion want to see that people are committed to this business full time. The brokers lic info is likely more of a plus since it's added exp. but I would leave the Home care to it's own site. Fees are really up to you. I'm somewhat in your same area and competition is very stiff, so my average fee for a first is 100-150 within a 20 mile radius... Scheduling: You're pretty much at the mercy of the borrower on that one with a little wiggle room. Most of the time the appt is already set and it's a simple yes or no as to whether or not you can make it... Sometimes you get to set the appt and that is very nice. Necessities for this business have been discussed and discussed so you'll find much better info with the search than I can offer on my own...
Good Luck to you! Poppy
