the latest NNA email

I'm sure you all got it. The President of the NNA wrote a nice term paper on Background Checks.

Actually, it was a nice piece. I'm sure it cleared through their marketing staff and attorneys before it was sent to the general public. It was so politically correct it almost made sense...even to me. "Feel good" advertisement is just that....makes you feel all comfy and cozy and protected.

It says, "we are behind you, NSA's of the industry. We feel your pain of industry requirements. Because we feel your pain, we have taken steps to solve it" (as most Big Brothers do). The president talks about this overwhelming need of the industry for background checks and is so darn empathetic about fulfilling that need. My goodness - they are right up there with the Salvation Army. Service to Notaries...it's all about the notary signing agents. Uh huh.

Don't believe a word of it. The NNA stands to make a bundle from this. I hope that NSA's that read this board take heed of the message that greets them when they sign into NR.

A discerning mind is invaluable. Do your homework if you are self-employed and don't fall for the hype. If, after you do your research agree that the NNA background check is for you? Great. Just don't be a herd of sheep that go with the flow. Remember that most sheep end up getting sheared, right down to the nubbins.

Take the time to make a good decision. I still believe that NR offers a smart alternative to the hype of the NNA...an alternative that fulfills the need, yet honors the integrity of the self-employed NSA.

The NNA doesn't, in my humble opinion. Take the time to do your homework and make wise decisions for your own business. It's easy to fall in line with big brother, but I think a smart self employed vendor does his/her own research and makes a decision based on what works for them.

Still, I have to give a nod to the NNA for some smart tactics. This is a war...a war for you - the NSA. Choose your side wisely, as they want YOU (sort of like Uncle Sam).

Just my two cents. And if I get another letter from NNA lawyers? My opinions are mine only, and don't represent anything other than personal opinion. I think that is still legal in this country, but I could be wrong.

TG! I agree! Didn't his nice little letter just give you warm fuzzies? Maybe if we could get together and write a letter to HIM signed by ALL of us, (NNA lovers are excused from signing this letter), about how WE feel the NNA and thier tactics and money grubbing ways have been detrimental to NSA's they might get a clue....maybe? LOL (NNA-This is JUST MY OPINION!!)
I've often wondered, you know how 3 mos after you've purchased E & O from them, you get a letter saying your E & O is about to expire, send MONEY right NOW! Then you get this same letter at least once a month for the next 9 months when it is actually time to re-new. So I'm wondering, how many actually have sent thier renewal money in at the 3 month mark, then again 3 months later, etc does that mean that at the end of the 1st year when the original policy you purchased is due for renewal, are you already paid up for the next 3 years too, since you've "re-newed for another year" every 3 months. I know, this part of the post makes about as much sense as some of the things we get from them! It's late! LOL!
Have a good night everyone!

Your message makes very good sense. I hadn't even thought of that angle before. Kinda reminds me of the scams where people send big companies trumped up invoices. Amazing how many get paid without people even checking! I also agree that TG once again hit the nail on the head... Once you read between the lines, that message kinda makes you want to puke, though, doesn't it?

Made me feel all warm and cozy inside

Just about what I'd feel staring into the eyes of a cobra! (or maybe a maggot) They're never going to get another dime from me. IF I have to get the bgc I'll go with NR. This is a place worth supporting.

Re: Warm and fuzzy...

I once left a ham sandwich on the kitchen counter too long and it got warm and fuzzy....and eventually smelled like the NNA.
