Any FTP Pros out there??

I'm trying to upload my new website that I did. I keep getting an access denied message. But I know i have rights. It worked on my home computer, but now I'm using a different computer and I keep getting this message. I've used FTP before on this system and it worked fine, now all of the sudden, it's not working. Help!

TIA

What FTP product are you using? Are you sure you have the correct FTP site address and password? There are a lot of variables here.

Unfortunately, I'm about to leave for my afternoon signings, so I can't help you today.

The computer you are working on might have a firewall set up to not allow the FTP. You might want to try to deactiviate the firewall temporarily and see if that helps. Another option is to check out microsofts help site.

Is use this to troubleshoot issues and it is very helpful once you find the help you need.

I'm using WS_FTP Pro. I have disabled the firewalls. I've used it before on this mechine and had no problems.

Sometimes when you run updates and such on computers, something that used to work, no longer works. I ran Norton on my laptop once, had no issues, but the next time I logged in, was inable to visit HTTPS websites. Had to fix some items in the registry. Is there a troubleshooting guide for WS_FTP? Maybe this will help?

Ok, so I uninstalled it, then reinstalled it.

I can pull files from the internet and download to my pc, but I can't upload files from my pc to the internet.

I found the problem. The folder that I saved is saving as

a ready only folder. I can't keep it from not saving as a read only.

Re: I found the problem. The folder that I saved is saving as

Try deleting the file on the server and then uploading the new version of the file. I'm not familiar with your ftp software, but all the ftp software I've used had a command to delete a file from the server
