Becca_FL-- portable equipment.
Good morning I was reading a thread lower down on the list, a reply about the use of mobile equipment. Your correct, the use of mobile equipment is great. I use wifi on my laptop quite offten. Most all of the McDonalds have free connection. What a way to go free internet and a plastic hamburger too ! I have captured faxs, but never really thought about printing them off in the disAstro van. My question to you is: Do you have a laser printer in your car? If so could you share with us what kind? Do you run it on an inverter or is it 12volt? Thanks Ray

I am not Becca_FL but I have a mobile set up. I have a Laser printer and a power inverter, but it is not 12V, it is 3000 watt. The laser printer I have runs about 900 watts, having 3000 watts allows me to have other items running or charging like camera batteries, flashlights. I am an inspector too.

Hi Ray, What part of Texas are you in? I am in the Dallas area.
Margaret and Becca are so helpful when it comes to setting up a mobile office. I found threads 43990 and 67875 very helpful to read. A lot of great information. There are specific types of inverters and such that work very well with laserprinters. (Pure Sine). Also, there is additional equipment that can be purchased on order to save on your battery life. You can read a lot more about it if you check out those threads and the www.invertersrus.com website Margaret mentions. I am working on researching this subject at this time and plan to imorive my current mobile office. Since I utilize a Jeep Wrangler for most of my signings, I am working on a way to make it not only mobile, but easy to pack up as well....since I don't want to leave expensive equipment in a vehicle that can be so easily broken in to.
Are you going to set one up? Let us know how it goes.

I have a laser printer and copier that run off a 1000wt pure sine inverter wired to my battery. I run an HP 1320 and a Samsung 4016.
