Bother 5170

My hard drive crashed and had to get a new one. Now my 5170 printer won't auto select the right size paper.I have gone into assec. and installed the 2nd tray and applied the trays to the paper sizes, but still won't auto select. Help tia

Well, I don't have a Brother printer but an HP. I had to go into Control Panel/Printers and Faxes. Then I had to right click on the appropriate printer and select Properties. Then under the tab for Device Settings I had to define the trays. Now this may be useless information since your printer is not an HP. But it may be worth look. Good luck.

I recently installed a 2nd tray to my Brothers Printer. Make sure your printing preferences and your properties are set to dual printers and auto select. It took me awhile to configure and it does depend on the files you receive. However, since I got it working correctly, I would never go back to single cassette. When I print a file, the pages are the right size.
