CA Traffic School and the Notaries role....

I was surfing the web and came across this: http://www.onenotguilty.com/proctorform.asp .

What is the notaries role? Do the "students" bring you the finished test to be notarized? Or do they actually have to take the test in front of you?

This has nothing to do with my state, but feel that it would be interesting to learn. Thanks.

from FLA..."This is what I suggest...you post under one name only to prove your sincere. And some unsolicited advise...never make a comment directly to someone you already know dislikes you. Don't use their name in anything you write. When you do that, you're just picking a fight."

from you - same thread..."I will take your advice FlacMac.. thank you.... n/m"

why the different names Korey, I heard your explanation, but no one else has two different names going consecutively. Let's get some attention span going here.

Brenda Stone.... BrendaTX ..... just for example.

I choose to use the screen name of Sealer from now on. I've already posted the fact that I'm sealer yesterday. Would you perfer I use Korey Humphreys instead?

Do you know the answer to my question? Do you know what the notary's role is?

Ask your friend Brian Noles on the west coast. He was part of the thread #99616 which discussed the same subject 2 days ago.

since this is not applicable to my state, I have no interest...here's a sterling idea....they have a 'contact us' button, I don't know but I'd hazard a guess that they can tell you what you want to know.
Brenda Stone, Brenda_TX everyone knows who she is. I've also posted my full name and Charm, but we link profiles. KH_MA, Korey humpfreys...easy, but sealer is totally different...ie... sock puppet...making people think you are trying to hide something. You came slamming onto the board in your big self imposed parade with your full name. Why change it?

Korey, Sealer, or whomever you choose to be at the moment---Why would you even be concerned about something that has nothing to do with your state? If you want to know more about this traffic school thing, why not contact them? General Information: [e-mail address]
Webmaster: [e-mail address]
Dude, you are wasting valuable space on this board. I would hope that you have better things to do! For the record, because of the unprofessionalism you have shown on this board, I would never contact you to do a signing. In fact, I would pass on the "deal" instead of having to use you. And, for the record, one of the notaries you have "blasted" on this board did a signing for us today! He has you to thank for that!! Otherwise, his name would not have "stood out". Would you care for me to send you a Thank You card? If so, please send the name and address you'd like me to send it to!!! Susan

Stick with Sealer..you promised:). Some traffic schools...

are linked with the National Safety Council. Every state has a "state safety council". They are non profit and are not affiliated with the government. Here in Florida..a teenager can get their license at the safety council versus the DMV. Every minor must have a notarized statement from the parent to take driving classes or to get their learners permit. Type in traffic schools for your state and you will find them. But, most traffic schools employ their own notaries.

I only know all of this because I worked for our local safety council for three years. Other ways to generate revenue...check with tatoo parlors and jewelry kiosk at your local mall..seriously...minors also must have a notarized statement from parent to get a tatoo or to pierce their body parts.

Re: Some traffic schools...

California has traffic school available online. You can work at your own pace, from home , rather then attend an eight hour class. This course is court/DMV approved, after you pass all sections of the class you will receive a passing score from the online school. You then print out a test, and a jurat form, take test in front of a notary public. Send both the completed test and notarized document to the school, and they will send a completion certificate. The notary part seems to be for identification purposes, that the person taking the test is one and the same as the person on the citation.

Re: Okay advice noted... will use my name from now on...

hhmmmm..... you'd never call me huh? Well, according to my records you've used my services and those of my contacts a couple times. My records show a mobile service to a company in Ayer. An attorney screwed up the paperwork, and you had to send little ole' me out. But you're right.... you'll never call me, or any of my Massachusetts Notaries again.

As a matter of fact, my databse says that someone from Cornerstone was pleased with the service. Someone from your business also stated that they'll call us again for sure.... but again, you're right, you never used my services. I guess I should re-think my career now (not).

Re: Okay advice noted... will use my name from now on...

Korey, you are right--for once. I did use you once on October 28, 2005 to do just as you said, to fix an attorney's screw up. However, at that time, I did not know who you were. We do have other notaries in MA that we have used--I have no reason to believe they are connected to you in any way. I truly despise knowing that I used a person such as yourself and can assure you that I will never use you again--now that I know your name(s). If you'd be so kind, please send me a list of your "associates" and I can guarantee you that I will not use them either. As I've stated before, I'd rather pass on a "deal" than to use low class people such as yourself. You are despicable and I'm grateful I don't have to depend on you to make a living. Trust me, I have learned from this mistake!!! Susan

Cali and Charm

I rather enjoy Charms perception of this person. If not for her and others I might actually believe this person. With that being said, so much of what is written is becoming more and more self-serving and transparent.

The person studies thru an online traffic school, prints the test and brings it to the notary to be taken in front of the notary - which is acknowledged.

Thank you to all those that responded with an answer..

I like reading and gaining insight on different aspects of the Notary Public nationwide. If I find something interesting, then I like to ask questions about it. Given that the office of Notary Public is ancient in origin, I like to read up on the history and where it may lead in the future.

Some old offices in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, such as that of Justice of the Peace, and/or the Constable, are "fading away". It's a shame because its such an old office (JP). I'm not sure of the appropriate term to use here, which is why fading away is in quotes.

It astonishes me how things evolve through time. For all we know, a hundred years from now our office (or that of the JP/constable) may not exist.
