Check from SOX!!!!
Amazingly -- received a check from SOX today for a signing in November!! Didn't think I'd see that without a lot of phone calls, etc. I've been putting it off. Wonders never cease!! Did 3 in January but have since cut them off. We'll see if those checks come in down the road.

Review down a bit ..... is REQUESTING A CREDIT APPLICATION so far out of scope ? You are a business and you are holding these people to a line of credit. why should not you be allowed to request a credit application from them? They yap about thier AGREEMENT .... yada yada yada .... slap 30days net 10% on them see if they float.

Credit apps are a nice idea but I don't think trying to enforce a 10% late charge against businesses like SOX would carry much weight, credit app or not. Too much wasted time, there are plenty of good companies out there to work for. IMHO

The 10% late fee is excessive as a practical matter, but a credit app is a good idea. Including the name, home address and home numbers of the owners of the business for the small signing services.
Why not? They have all of our info.

Credit app?
10% late fee?
I believe you have the wrong relationship in mind.
WE are not a retail store selling product to a customer.
WE are contractors selling services to a client.
A credit App, IMHO, would be the quickest way to insure that you never get a call to work from an SS.
On another note, I also got a check this week from SOX for two jobs done in December, total $190. I'm almost certain that had I had my invoice in their hands before the 5th of the month (their rule, and I didn't) I would have been paid last month for this.
As long as you follow the rather critical and stringent requirements, SOX pays as normal in my experience so far. If you never invoice them, they "don't know they owe you".
But you have to wonder about an SS whose accounting is SO out of touch that they need YOUR invoice to know that they owe you ......... :o]

I guess this means I still have a chance of being paid by SOX for my December signings. I have almost $1000 O/S with them. I feel like an investor in their company. No, I feel like a patsy. All those calls from them to due signings with E-Docs I have had to turn down because I am booked with Companies that pay their bills timely.
