Now that the info is out for the whole world
Do some of you wonder why business isn't what it used to be? Well, this question was also asked on GMN this morning instead of the poster doing a little research (which was very easy to find). In trying to be helpful to the person asking the question, the whole world has been given this information (yes, it was posted on GMN also). So if some of you who used to work for this company are no longer getting the assignments you used to, you will know why. We are only shooting ourselves in the foot every time this happens.

Are only in a few states
They only work in Minnesota, Illinois, Florida, Michigan and Wisconsin. Missouri, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania and Virginia in future.

So the bottom line is: " Don't ever give out positive info on any SS or TC".

Re: Now that the info is out for the whole world
what she meant was she is tired of seeing company's info posted, as it is potentially taking business away from her.

That's not what I said
When the complete information is posted for a company, you've just given away one of your current or potential assests. The information was not difficult to obtain with just a little bit of investigation. But for everyone who comes on this board and others and wants a list of your "good" companies, why should we hand it to them on a silver platter complete with contact names and phone numbers? Most of us have worked darn hard to fill our stable and we shouldn't be just willey nilley handing out information that will come back to bite us.

Really not up to you to decide what someone else should do
in this case. Maybe the poster who gave the information is someone that was helped in the past and wanted to "give back".

Re: Really not up to you to decide what someone else should do
No it is not up to me to decide what someone else should do, but I would hope that in the future they would consider the ramifications. This is not a case of "giving back". If that was the rationale it could have been posted for them to email them for the contact information. But by publishing it on a public forum you've given the information to the whole world. Read a great many of the posts just from this week lamenting the lack of work. I have no problem "helping" people and I've mentored my share, but I also don't come on the board and give the "store" away either! This question was also posted on and answered on the "other" board. Now we've just doubled the amount of people that were given the free information. There was a WWII saying and it sort of applies in this instance, "Loose lips, sink ships". Post after post complains about the NNA churning out notaries and NSA's by the hundreds and then we are very free with our information to set them up in business, give them phone numbers and contact information, etc. etc. I also wonder how you would feel if this was a company that did business in CA and the information was freely diseminated on a public board for all of your competition to view.
