Ditech Correction Agreement
I've not seen this before...In a Ditech loan pkg, there is a Correction agree. that needs to be signed. There is also a place for a Notary signature and a line to write in when my commission expires. There is no notarial wording, however, on the page. Since these forms usually get notarized, do you think I need to attach a jurat? Of course, how would I know if it's supposed to be a jurat?

If there is no notarial wording then there is notarization to be performed. Now the rest is just my opinion and could be all wrong. I haven't done any ditech's, but it doesn't matter my opinion would be the same. My opinion is that if I am not notarizing then my Notary hat comes off and my Signing Agent hat goes on. I don't think we should sign as a notary in that place. It may happen all the time but it may not neccesarily be the proper thing to do. I'd like to hear some more opinions please.

I had one like that, don't remember the lender. It was funny as the notarial wording was at the top. It began with something like "appeared before me, the undersigned, and affirmed to the following" . The word affirmed made it a jurat. I lined through the area that had the spot for my signature and commision expiration date and just attatched the certificate. Nothing was ever said from the lender.

I would just call the lender and ask them. I have a company that always has a form (cant remember what it was) that begins with notarial wording but was missing the notary block so I would add an acknowledgement. I finally asked a gal when I had a different question, and she told me that it used to be a form that required notarization but that the requirements had changed so it no longer needed to be notarized. I no longer waste my time with the ack. that they didnt need. Just a thought

Another mystery solved by calling the company. Going to the
source (lender or TC) will always get you the correct answer versus the best guesses from the helpful people here.
