I don't think you have to do anything "special". All you need is (1) ink and (2) fingers!
I offer fingerprinting services. Yet I barely ever actually get a request to do it. As far as my notary work is concerned, I only fingerprint those people that have court related paperwork. It's not a requirment, but I do find it to be very helfpul in the court of law.
