For HereinSOCAL--long

I feel you need to get the jist of the status quo concerning this and many other notary boards. I can only think of a couple of other posts I done on this board but boy do I watch. You stated that this board has a clique. Truth be known it has a couple. That's just the way most place divy up. No matter what organization you join there will be those few that will become the "leaders" everyone else will follow. A while ago another poster tried to point out the hatefulness of a couple of members and the know it all hogs that feel the need to just say what comes to mind. She didn't cuss anyone, just made a few observations and bingo, she doesn't seem to be around anymore. She went against the clique I guess.
Another big truth is the outlandish rude and crudeness of a select few. You named Calinotary as a big offender. Truth is, I rather have Calinotary than Becca from Fl. If you'll (or anyone else) will do a search with just her name in the keywords area. You'll see that she, for the majority of her posts, is rude, hateful, brattish and just plain crude. She's a bully. I surmise this must be the only way to feed her low self-esteem. Why would anyone who seems to be such a professional stoop to such childish schoolyard behavior. Her mean streak is evident in 9 of every 10 posts. Here she's supposed to be this big experience professional. She acts like a brat who thinks she is doing the others a favor. Truth be known, her behavior makes the others look worse than they really are. Because they allow it. My question to any of them is "Do you want to be bullied?" Of course, they don't, yet they let her win. This overaged, self-important woman is allowed to behave worse than Nellie Olson of Little House on the Prairie fame! Not one of the regulars have the guts to call her on it. If they did, she'd have been put in her place long ago. I'm not saying I'm jumping on your Victoria Ring crusade, I'm not a VR fan. I am also not interested in making a notary board about religious argument. It doesn't belong here. However, I do enjoy reading the off topic jokes and antics of some of the posters. For the most, I'd enjoy attending a party with most of them. I think Calinotary would be the life of the party. These guys each have a personality trait that makes them stand out. It would help you to see that. BrendaTX was labeled Mother-know-it-all by someone. I agree with the label, but not in a derrogatory way. She's a fountain of information and usually willing to help out. You will recognize them as you get to know them. Charles is the conservative fatherly type. Charm is just a charm. I look forward to her weekly jokes. Beth is funny too. Teddog is always cheerful, too. There are others but names aren't coming to mind at the moment.
Get past the annoying and unprofessional and as for Becca, accept that she is the legend in her own mind and until someone sees fit to monitor her, she'll continue as always.
Hope today's a better day for you.

of what Judy said. She's right on the money about Becca. She will attack anyone for just about anything.
However, I can't say I think BrendaTx, CarolynCo, Beth/MD, CharlesCA, Calinotary, or any of the other names you constantly see are really all that great. They seem to be overrated only in the deep caves of their minds.
My attitude is say what you want and don't worry about the rest of the group.

There are other know it alls that would be offended if they were not included. HereinSOCAL, posters like Sherry/SLB, Shane and Roger in Ohio, ExpednTX and such used to be pretty quiet until they joined the special group that you mentioned.

Do I get a jacket or a special secret handshake or something?

I have posted on an off over the past year or so, not as much as the last couple months, but I'm here and there...

But as for being with a group? Nope, but you learn to recognize knowledgeable people, and the ones that aren't.

You may not like any of the names you suggested, but who are the first to answer 90% of all the questions asked on this board? Those people.

I don't mind listing a few names. Frankly, I 200% agree with the comments about Becca. I'm glad she's not near me, I'd become violent! And, Charm can be just awful if you don't care for what she has to say. Here, lately I've noticed that BrendaTX just rattles off her sass and then passes it off as a joke. I'm not worried if I name these people. I'm old enough to be a parent to half of them. I'm appalled at their ugliness.

Oh yes, it is ugly at times. Charm once made a comment, a tacky comment, I responded to the comment in few words, oh my goodness, it was unreal who jumped to her rescue.....the entire group of followers. Most of the group have no mind of their own. And no one person is more impressed with their smarts, then they themselves. I would suggest you do our own research even after you get an answer on this board, it may very likely be the wrong answer.

What is likeable is that when it come to the business they know thier stuff. Do I agree with them all 100% of the time? No. But 99% of the time I disagree it's is on a personal opinion not related to the business at all. But when a business answer is correct there is no argueing it.

Hello Darla:

I don't know that any of us/those *are* so likeable but we seem to find a degree of trust and friendship among those you have named and through others. I like those people because I can disagree with them without starting a riot. They have a lot of wisdom and other good qualities.

Do you find anyone likeable?

I am at this board because the people seem comfortable to me. If I didn't like the people here I guess I'd go elsewhere, or stay out of the forums.

Dear, poor Judy...

I certainly hope you make a better Notary than you do an armchair psychologist, because my dear, you couldn't be more wrong about me - just ask my posse.

What I can't stand, more than anything, is dealing with idiots. Idiots that can't think for themselves, can't seem to make in investment in their own future and profession make me MAD. People that refuse to take responsibility for their own lives just tick me off. It seems of late, idiots are penetrating my world in places where they have not before. Let's take NotRot, for example. NotRot used to be so much fun and an excellent place to talk, share and learn. Now, it's hard to find a good discussion between al the crying, whining and how do I make money posts.

So, do I get a bit nasty sometimes? You bet I do and for damn good reason. This is not a schoolyard; you can't pay off your neighbor for the answers to the test next period. You can't write an essay on the cliff notes, you have to do your own homework and learn for yourself. I am saddened at what I see hear sometimes. So many clueless people out there that have absolutely no business sense, no learning skills and no ambition to set goals and achieve them on there own merit. Despite what people believe, this is not a g’me profession. Would you open a pizza shop across the street from Pizza Hut and then ask the guy across the street to train you how to run a pizza shop? AND to top it off, you’re a Repertory Therapist by trade and have no clue what the pizza business is all about, but you heard that you could make a killing.

GET REAL!

Feel free to start the crying, whining idiot brigade, just take it to Yahoo and leave NotRot to the people who like to discuss what we do and why we do it. I'm all for a professional board, I'm against a whining, crying what's a jurat board.

Reply to Judy in LA: For HereinSOCAL--long THANK YOU!

Judy,

Thank You for this post!

It's good to know that there are professional notaries on this board, who can make a statement without having to viciously demean someone!

Regarding Victoria Ring. I disliked the notaries bashing her when she was not on the board to defend herself. There is a saying (which goes something like this):" At first they came for the strangers, and I said nothing. Next they came for my friends and I still said nothing. Afterwards, they came for my neighbors and I again said nothing. Today they came for me and there was no one left to speak-up, because everyone was gone!"

It seems as though many of the folks on this board dislike the "religious testimony", an example is "Paw". Yet when he was in the hospital, there were many persons (myself included), who prayed for him and said so on the board! Not one person disagreed!

When people have strife in their lives or just need to vent, often times, they will ask the board members "to pray for" them! There is always a positve response (as it should be).
Many times people will write "God Bless", "in Jesus Name" and so on in their postings.

Therefore, when is it okay to express religious viewpoints and when is it not?

Of course, there will be an array of answers! My point is that, anyone should be able to address an issue without a barage of furious, extreme-wing, notaries sounding the alarm button!

I do not mind when people disagree with me. Infact, I love a good debate! However, what I hate is the verbal abuse and mockery! There is no need! And when these people become angry, they become irrational! Most (if not all) of the "clique" replies to my post, do not even make sense! There is ranting and raving about me and my "religious" views, yet there is no mention of the ill behaviour, in reference to the name calling etc. . . Therefore, it must be acceptable, on this board, to behave in this manner!

Also, what I find interesting, is that when I used the term "Newbie", there were a few notaries who wrote that, "being a notary is long hard work", that I "cannot expect work to be given to" me, that I "should respect my elders" and so forth! Obviously they had not read the post with any clarity or understanding!

It's as though there is a "gang" problem here on the board!

Even though these "foul-talking" notaries may have a wealth of notarial knowledge, I no longer have any respect for them. None at all!

So the next time I read a post, written by one of these persons, that "Newbies are taking away our business" etc. . .I will have no longer have empathy for them. Too bad! Too sad!

Again, I Thank You and all the other Decent (Yes, Decent!) women and men on this board, who have been Very Nice and Very Professional (to me)!

And Yes! I had a Wonderful Day!

By the way, What is an "anon"????

which means an intelligent and distinguished person.

Re: Anon derives from the Spanish word ano

Learned scholars seem to disagree. "Anon" is an abbreviation of "anonymous".

Anonymous is from Late Latin "annymus", from Greek "annumos", nameless.
