Home Inspection and Fingerprinting

Can anyone tell me when a fingerprinting is necessary during a Notary signing and what is a home inspection and do you need further training to do home inspecions?
Thanks a bunch!

Fingerprints are never necessary in FL, for loan signings. This information is published in your Governor's Reference Manual for Notaries, which you should have a copy.

As for home inspections, I suggest you do a search for "inspections". You should get lots and lots of information on the subject.

Home inspection usually means checking out the house on behalf of the buyer to discover any nasty surprises before the purchase. The home inspector often gathers samples for others to test, such as radon and drinking water. One home inspector I hired was also qualified to check for insect infestations. It may or may not be regulated in your state. A background in engineering or construction would be very helpful. There is at least one national association, which I'm sure you could find on the web.

I've also heard of notaries or others just being asked to snap a few pictures for the lender to give the lender some assurance that the house generally resembles what they think their collateral is.
