Independent Agent and Health Insurance
I live in California and I am trying to get health insurance through a group. Are there any Notary groups out there offering health insurance? I appreciate any help that is offered! Thank you! Susan

Re: Check your local area Chamber of Commerce
I belong to my local area Chamber of Commerce, and one of the perks is having access to all the health plans offered in my state at competitive prices.
I have a great HMO and only pay $20 more a month than my brother does with his full-time job -- we both have the same carrier, same plan.
I have no deductibles, $10 office copays, $5 to $30 prescription copays (depending on the tier), $50 ER copy, no copays on procedures.
By the way, the same insurance company quoted me almost double when I attempted to sign up without the benefit of a Chamber of Commerce membership.

John what about a group plan type policy?
Is it possible for us all, as independent notary signing agents to develope a group policy situation? Inquiring minds would love to know.

Re: John what about a group plan type policy? Sorry, the .
original post was not mine. I had a case of fumble fingers while reading the post. But in any case it is possible to form a group such as a benevolent society, etc in order to get a group policy. The best thing to do is to contact an independent agent who specializes in group plans.

Not that I am promoting Avon, but they have an excellent independent rep program - you phase in over a 6 month period and also have great term life as well. If you sign up to be a rep - order something every 9 weeks and you are eligible for the insurance. Something to look into - if you need info or help let me know because - I do have all the info because I was a district sales manager for them - so I have the info. My email is [e-mail address]
