Loose certificate

This may be a stupid question but bear w/me. I have never had to use a loose certificate. I will be required to use one tomorrow on a split signing. I understand what I need to fill out except for the "optional" part at the bottom. Do I say what document this attachment goes with or does stapling it to the original loan doc enough? The reason I ask is what if the loose certificate doesn't stay stapled to the document. How do they know what is pertains to.
I am not very fond of these split signings.

Not on the bottom what doc it goes with and how many pages there are to that doc and the date on the doc. That way you are covered. Thats what I do.

I ALWAYS write on the certificate what document, date, and loan number the certificate pertains to as well as the borrower's names as printed on the document. Additionally, I make sure some of my handwriting trails down into the text just a bit so that it can't be cut off without being obvious. Just my best practice.

You can attach a loose certificate by filling out the optional info(if that't the type of certificate you have). Fill out as much as possibe including name of document and #of pages. On the document itself you can write on the bottom "see attached certificate". It's an extra measurement of security.

In other words you can "Attach" by what you write. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help. What you all advised me is pretty much what I thought, but it is nice to be able to ask knowledgable people for help.
