hey, i was just wanted a little feed back. What do you guys think about going into title companies and mortgage companies and dropping off your business cards and/or a flyer of your services. I know when I worked at a mortgage company and scheduled all the signings for them between the notaries, borrowers and title companies....I just got a lot of phone calls from notaries and mail when they were trying to get me to use them. I plan to do that as well, but I want to market in person too....seems like it can be a better effect.

Thank you LaHoma for not asking, how do I market myself. You have a very good idea and asked a very specific question...
I happen to work at a mortgage company, and the notaries that stop by the office and introduce themselves and answer questions about how the handle situations will get the business before the "others" that just email/mail/fax.
Go for it... It will cost you a little time, but it's a good idea.
PS-- Call the company before going out and ask the receptionist for the name of the person in charge of scheduling. That way, when you show up you can ask to see Mr. BlahBlah.

Hi Lahoma,
I sent out a letter to the Title Companies in my area with reasons why I can help their business and some of them called me to come in to talk. It was great!!! I am going to send another set out this quarter as well. I think it is a great idea to mail them first, see who contacts you, then send another letter out a couple months later. I think I would also take Jersey-Boy's advice with calling in advance. If you just walk in and they are busy, it might start things off on a bad foot. Good luck!!!

very true, i like your idea and jersey_boy. I'll take both of your advice. I really appreciate it. I was wondering do you mind sending to my e-mail a copy of the letter you send out, so I can just get an idea. I wish I took some copies when I was at the mortgage company, but i didn't think I could do that so i didn't. here is my e-mail address if you don't mind
