OT Anaheim Hills Fires are incredible

I drove in last night and you can see the fires from the 5 freeway all the way from Beach Blvd down to El Toro Rd. The view at night was absolutely spectacular with the plumes of flame and the steam and smoke, it looked like one might think of hell. The last time I saw anything like that it was a volcano. I'm just glad they've got them under control. The last I heard the fire was heading for the City of Orange and that is one of my favorite cities with al the old homes, anyone go to Cafe Felix in the circle?

Where is the fire. All the news in my area keeps referring to Orange County. They never say where in Orange County.

The fires have been incredible. I used to live at the top of Anaheim Hills off of Serrano. Yes, I've been to Cafe Felix, love that they've kept that whole area so charming. I go to the Orange fair every year. Where are you located Charles? I'm in Huntington Beach - the real Surf City!!

Mission Viejo, while I'm here...

I spend a lot of time on the Mendocio Coast and in between. I'm down here for a week and them back up. I been doing a lot of commercial sales in Bakersfield and Fresno, but things are starting to heat up again in Orange County.

Nice to be able to work and live between the two areas. Also, can't beat this lovely weather while we have it.

I used to have a home on T street on the water. Great

place. Ever go to the Sunrise Cafe on PCH, I love their breakfasts. And I love the zucchini fries that Mr. Pete's has.

Re: Go there all the time, but The Fisherman on th pier, my fav.

I live in Mission Viejo but only because I had a rental that came available when my daughter decided to go to college downhere. The tenenats were ind enough to decide that they wanted to move to another area and so I stay here whenever I am in town. I'm originlly from Maine but I've lived in Southern California longer than I've lived anywhere and San Celmente, Capo Beach and Dana Ppoint area my favorite areas. I am in the process of reducing my range of operations and I'd like to find a home in San Clemente again. I like the T street area but the pier is great and so are the bluffs above Capistrano Beach. My base of base of operations is currently Mendocino North of San Francisco. I thought that at one time I wanted to live there for the resto fo my life but I've changed my mind. I think I'll keep what I ahve in the City of Alameda (and island in San Francisco Bay just because I really like San Francisco and I love to sail the Bay) but the So Cal beach lifestyle is hard to beat.

If you are driving South on 5 look to the left of Saddleback. I don't know if they have all down today but last night it was quite spectacular. My home i son a hill and I can see Irvine and Newport Beach and they valley is loaded with smoke right now, it almost looks like night there. My daugher tells me that at Orange Coast College it looked like it had snowed with the ash and soot.

Wow! I didn't notice it at all today - even early this morning - and thought I'd heard that it was mostly out, they just didn't have a perimeter dug out yet. Maybe not? Yesterday there were thick, enormous plumes of smoke, but today it just looks like a gray haze. I'm so glad they were able to keep it to unpopulated areas -- and that the wind was blowing in the other direction! (I'm in LF, next door.)

Beautiful area Charles, and you are right the lifestyle here

in San Clemente is VERY hard to beat. We are so fortunate to have a fabulous ocean view and an old home built in the 60's that hubby has remodeled/updated to be very quaint and unique. I will live here til my final days, I am sure!

Yes, but my primary business is commercial and industrial real estate and finance. My business chugs along steadily regardless of what else is happening inthe economy!

Great area! Can you see Lake MV from where you are? (I'm just down the road - maybe 2 mi from you.) I just love it here. Nice, safe and peaceful and I somehow manage to be going against the traffic most of the time! ;>) (Hmmmm. Maybe I shouldn't push my luck - or advertise...!)
