OT Wondering ADHD and
if anyone here has children who have it, ages, what works what isn't. How school has been? etc. I have two sons, both have it, know it comes from my side of family. I've dealt with it and really never knew I had it (still not formally diagnosed) , but went I was yioung they called my brother "hyper" and knowing what I do now, he definately had ADHD. We've had some issues and in the past bad teacher who were not good for children with these learning issues. We've come a long way but as a parent we so badly never want our loved ones to have any form of suffering and let alone our children when school alone is one of the hardest things to deal with as a child.
Anyones thought or advice would be greatly apprecaited and welcomed.
Thanks for any help and sorry for it not being on Notary Stuff. I am just having a hard time making sure their schools are going to be supportive in this and have a meeting with them set up.

I have 2 boys who were not ADHD, but were in special ed
all thru school. You often have to fight for your kids. Some schools make things very difficult, others are better. I know alot about the fighting part, so if I can help, please email me. BTW my sons have grown up to be strong, caring, funny, hardworking and just all around nice guys. Next time yours are driving you crazy- remember that

Ditto: Mine's 13. He's driving us crazier.
Email me if you like, we use meds but I suggest supplementing behavioral therapy as well. The meds help, for sure, but I personally think behavioral therapy would supplement nicley.

Our 14 and we have taken him off all the meds they have tried. We are controlling his with diet. I agree we sometimes have to fight tooth and nail for our kids. I have many times.

Re: THANK YOU all. What kind words
you have all given. It's truely appreciated and the encouragement helps. I also have 2 boys, the youngest with ADHD, the older ADD. If there is a silver lining it's that the youngest is a "jock" and the H part of his ADHD if it was with his brother it would probably drive us insane.
Thanks again and have a wonderful and structured day! lol
