OT ....not sure that I wanted to

bring it up but it is pretty disturbing and sick so I am not posting the link on here. I respect people, the site and feel it's your option to view it. If you want to see what your kids (teens) had chances to see and play for a video game, use this email to email me and I will send the link (email is: [e-mail address]).
(By the way, see the next post if you want to know about how to get your email ike this if you don't know already)

There is a new movie coming out (Running Scared - out Feb 24th) and this cinema promotion site had a video game that you could play online. (they claim it was screened so only adults could play that version because it shows the characters participating in oral sex)

Now I don't have teenages but if this is where things are going on video games...I will be the next persident of that organization that works at getting this stuff banned because I refuse to think about the children that are seeing this. It's not bad enough that your goal is some games is to kill cops and run over hookers but now you think that this is what adults want to play on a video game??

Now they have taken the link to play the adult version of the game off the site, but the links that I have will take you to a site that tells about what exactly the game was, what exactly the process was to play and what the feelings are on it. Oh, you can still play the first level version though.

I'm not sure if anyone else heard of this game or others, but I am ticked off that the actors and their agents would agree to this as "sales and promotion" materials they want to be associated with for themselves.

Along the same lines of kids and the internet. My 12 year old daughter who is too smart for her own good got the yahoo instant messenger. We let her do it and were very watchful. Now a month later it has been uninstalled. You don't know who is a kid and who is not. And the ones you do know by webcam are just loosing thier brains with the idea of independance and don't make the best choices on exchanging chain messages. I'm preparing for WW3 when she realizes that it's gone. Although last night she played around on Rubberfaces.com (which is friggen funny), she must have noticed the change. Maybe the hubby told her.

As a parent of three boys...

We stand our ground when it comes to computer issues. The kids computer is out in the open with serious adult protection. It's more of what goes on at their friends houses that I am bothered with. Some parents have no idea what their kids are doing in the bedrooms. Last week I notified a mother that her son had a webcam in his room. She was totally shocked. She called me a day later to thank me for letting her know. It was my son who came home to tell me he saw his first webcam. I silently freaked out. Get this! her son is 8.

Re: As a parent of three boys...

Signer, that's way too young. I'm guessing there are older siblings on the pc and the younger one is there with them. It's so frustrating. I now ask for ages of siblings when my daughter wants to go to a friends house. Until the last year her friends have all been oldest siblings. I wanted to scream when I found out that they watched a rated R movie at her friends house when she stayed the night. Do people have brains anymore? I'm beginning to doubt it. If the parents can't keep the younger kids from the older kids while they're watching movies then what else can happen? Is that parent going to moniter the 12 year olds internet viewing? Probably not.

Bingo! I suspect it was the older brothers computer my son..

saw the webcam on. I think the mother just thought her precious little one wasn't allowed to view the older brothers computer since it was in his room. The younger childs computer doesn't have internet. It still doesn't seem like the house is being monitered much by the mother. Now I have asked that the boys play outside it weather permits or they come to my house. I am very open about why I allow my kids to do things and why they can't and if the parents take offense then I am sorry. I do say things in a very pc fashion but some parents get offended immedialtely and feel attacked.

Most games are of this nature even though the ratings don't list them as a bad choice for kids. The Sims is a very adult game yet the rating says young teens can play it.

Signer, I also let them know as politely as possible. But in all sincerity I don't give a rats rear end if they feel insulted, offended, or attacked. I don't have time to worry about thier feelings when it's in the best interest of my kids.

I hear ya...

but I do start off nice and polite (although clear and straight to the point) but in the end if they get mad than they are not a family for us.

If they get that upset

Then deep down, they know you're right, they just don't want to make the effort themselves!
