You all might consider this.

Send a fax to all the $45 - $50 companies to REMOVE your information from their data base and give your reasons for doing so. If you want to start making an impact for Professional Notaries this is one way to start. I sent out faxes to four these companies this weekend. And I intend to do so with every lowball company that ever contacts me.

They persist in calling me when I've told them repeatly to stop! My fees are set by me and I know what I need to charge to make a profit. For all of us that have been doing our taxes (I'm sure $45 & $50 notaries are NOT listing their income from these jobs) we Professional Notaries know that you LOSE money doing lowball jobs.

This is my way of making a stand to save this Profession. NO NO a thousand times NO to lowballers. Truly just my opinion and my way of showing that "I'm fed-up" with the actions of companies undermining a Professional group of people. If you want to Make a Stand - Then make a Stand.

Won't make a difference....

Because there are $45-50 people out there that will take those fees.

The ones that tend to take those fees, are newbies, and part time NSA's...where for them $45-50 for a 2 hour job (assuming its local), is worthwhile as a supplemental income.

Its the flooding of the marketplace of those people that are driving fees, and bringing down the industry as a whole. Either you recognize that or you don't, unfortunately a lot of people don't.

Anyway, I'm working on some serious organizing efforts with the help of many others on this board.... Give me/us some time but anyone with suggestions or ideas can contact me at [e-mail address]

Re: Won't make a difference....

It was a suggestion. And I do think that the more people that "let these compainies know where you stand" the better. The people who take those fees will just dry-up and be gone sooner or later.

As I said it was just a suggestion. Yes, something on a Grand scale has to be done and I am all for it! But don't "blow off" a suggestion. It's not as stupid as it might seem to you. Notaries have to voice their opinions to Lowballers so they start to get "the drift" that Professional Notaries are NOT going to put-up with them. Part-timers or newbies want to take $45 or $50 dollars - good for them<they still are Not making any money.

Again it's just my opinion.

It won't make a dent

Your idea has some merit, however, it will not make a dent at the present time because for everyone of us that does that, the NNA is churning out 10 more newbies and either they won't know the difference or will think that they will get their experience there and then go on.
